ATC is a singing competition that celebrates and preserves
all styles of classic American song.

With prizes exceeding $40,000, including a $12,000 cash First Prize (with an additional paid concert headlining with our partner, the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra), this is an amazing opportunity for multi-genre vocalists.

Who are our preliminary judges?  They are comprised of casting agents, professional performers, conductors, past live competition judges, and music educators.

Who competes in the ATC?

  • Broadway professionals (such as Mykal Kilgore, Tony Yazbeck, Alysha Umphress, Michael Maliakel, Julie Benko, Jacob Keith Watson)
  • Members of the Armed Forces musical ensembles (Navy, Army and Air Force have all recently been represented!)
  • Jazz artists (2023 Grammy Winner Nicole Zuraitis, Kimberly Hawkey, Anaïs Reno, Alexis Cole, Sharón Clark)
  • Educators, Cabaret Artists, Country Singers, Pop Singers, Gospel Singers, Cantors, Composers….you name it, and they've probably competed.
  • The best part: anyone over 18 can compete.  We believe there is no upper age limit on style, so we don't enforce one.
Answers to frequently asked questions can be found here, and any questions can be directed to our Artistic and Executive Director.

Quick overview:
  • 9 different songs, each representing a different style of music (from Americana and Art Song to Country and Jazz). Yes, your whole program needs to be decided at the time of application.
  • a headshot and biography, as well as three audio files that match your first round's musical offering must be attached to your application.
  • Please, no videos - our preliminary judging is done on audio files only. No names, no accomplishments. Just musicality, fair and square!
  • With that in mind, please be sure your audio files feature clear vocals so you can be judged with care on your complete application.
  • The live competition will take place from January 27-31, 2025 in Savannah, Georgia.  All contestants will be offered housing, and given a stipend to offset travel and food costs while in Savannah.
