Colorado Water Fellows Update Our 2024-2025 Colorado Water Fellows have been busy this semester! They attended the Water in the West Symposium, where they engaged with the water community and even introduced some of the sessions. They toured Denver Water's Operations Facility and have connected with leaders from around the country for coffee. Each month they've been joined by guest speakers, worked on professional development projects, and have increased their knowledge about water and the industry. Next semester, they look forward to attending Colorado Water Congress, exploring in the field, engaging with environmental art, and connecting with Water Fellows from all corners of Colorado. |

Colorado governor proposes shielding funding for major water programs as state’s $1B deficit looms Fresh Water News- Jerd Smith | December 5, 2024 The Colorado Water Conservation Board would see a $6.9 million increase in the next fiscal year, rising from $98.1 million in revenue this year to $105.1 million, according to the governor’s office. This Week In Water- Car Paint That Packs a Charge H2O Radio | December 8, 2024 David and Goliath—small island nations sue large developed countries for damages. Climate records were broken last year because a certain type of cloud has gone missing. Last week’s tsunami warning on the west coast was canceled, and although the chance of one occurring is low—it's far from impossible. Solar paint by Mercedes-Benz could make plugging in an EV a thing of the past. If you can’t beat it, eat it? To reduce plastic pollution, researchers are making some that's edible. |
