Hi {{ subscriber.firstName | default('love') }}

Happy Sunday :)

I wanted to share with you something that has been in the forefront of my heart all week long with this new moon.

The new moon is traditionally a time of reset.  You've probably already heard or read me saying this quite a bit this week.  It's a beautiful time of dreaming and slowing down, in preparation for the next coming weeks.  It's truly magical if you can tap in (even just a little bit) to the slower and calmer energy. hearing myself say this over and over again, it came up for me that we don't always desire a reset.  Sometimes we are perfectly content in the moment, and don't wish to reset or dream up something new.

And that is A-Ok!

Whether you are resetting and dreaming up something fresh for the future, or you're intending to CONTINUE something you're very fond of right now, the new moon is the time to look to your intention with gratitude, meditate and/or journal on how having that in your life FEELS (does it bring joy/laughter/happiness? what is the actual FEELING?) and send it out to the universe.

As this was in my heart so strongly this week, it reminded me of a poem that my friend Jenna posted around the New Year, when resolutions were floating around all of our news feeds.  I quoted this in a lot of my classes this week and wanted to share with you :

by Maya Angelou

My wish for you
Is that you continue

To be who and how you are
To astonish a mean world
With your acts of kindness

To allow humor to lighten the burden
Of your tender heart

In a society dark with cruelty
To let the people hear the grandeur
Of God in the peals of your laughter

To let your eloquence
Elevate the people to heights
They had only imagined

To remind the people that
Each is as good as the other
And that no one is beneath
Nor above you

To remember your own young years
And look with favor upon the lost
And the least and the lonely

To put the mantle of your protection
Around the bodies of
The young and defenseless

To take the hand of the despised
And diseased and walk proudly with them
In the high street
Some might see you and
Be encouraged to do likewise

To plant a public kiss of concern
On the cheek of the sick
And the aged and infirm
And count that as a
Natural action to be expected

To let gratitude be the pillow
Upon which you kneel to
Say your nightly prayer
And let faith be the bridge
You build to overcome evil
And welcome good

To ignore no vision
Which comes to enlarge your range
And increase your spirit

To dare to love deeply
And risk everything
For the good thing

To float
Happily in the sea of infinite substance
Which set aside riches for you
Before you had a name

And by doing so
You and your work
Will be able to continue

- New Series + Class On The Online Studio Space

- Upcoming Denver Pop Ups

- Upcoming Denver 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training

- Spring 2020 Mexico Yoga Retreat!!!

(upcoming in February on the MoonRise Online Studio Space : lead with your HEART February - I'm dropping a new heart opening yoga practice EVERY Sunday next month!)

I'm really REALLY loving this rhythm of releasing a new video every Sunday. It's feeling to me like our own Sunday Self Care session, does it to you?! Today's sequence had a lot of meaning behind it to me....I think we can all relate to those days where everything feels chaotic and we need to GROUND...I certainly can!

I wrote this sequence specifically to ground after one of "those" days.  For when you feel like everything is coming at you, or you're so busy you don't have time to eat a full meal.  For when your head is in the to do list, or you just feel like you need to come to your mat and reconnect to YOU for whatever reason.  We are going to connect to ourselves, flow a bit and really ground.  Please use this time during your practice to focus on the rhythm of your breath and keep coming back to quiet.  I hope you enjoy this time and that it's a practice you'll come to over and over again as you're called to it!

Want to try out the MoonRise Online Studio Space?  We're offering it up for ONE MONTH FREE!   You'll have a new class at your fingertips EVERY Sunday, a library of classes and series to choose from whenever you crave it and new special series sprinkled in throughout.

A brand new 12 MONTH series dropped on the online space this past Friday!

The new moon is traditionally a time of reset for both mind and body.  When the skies get dark, it's such a nurturing time to slow and quiet yourself and your life down a bit wherever possible.  It's a time to dream, make plans and set new goals, whether they be big or small.  The days surrounding the new moon are excellent for your favorite self care things....reading, journaling, yin yoga, baths, meditation, cooking, tea.  Pamper yourself this weekend.

In my new 12 month series, we will meet in the online space each new moon of the year for a special yin yoga practice where we ground and open our hearts.  These special 12 practices will be available in your online library for you to access whenever you want to practice a relaxing yin sequence!

The moon is our closest celestial neighbor and powerfully influences every living thing on our planet. Within 28 days, the moon passes through 8 phases, each with its own unique characteristics. The energy of the arguably most influential phase - the full moon - lends for a magical, beautiful and important practice.

Join us for a monthly ALL LEVELS Full Moon Inspired Yoga Flow. Expect to tune into the power, purpose and energy of the full moon this week.

February's Full Moon is the Snow Moon. February is a transitional month. Winter is clawing to keep its position while spring is chomping to get back on the scene. The result leads to a tug-o-war which manifest in bizarre weather, unpredictable mood swings, radical shifts.

This month’s full moon is also a time to cast off that which is unwanted or unneeded. Imagine the snow and ice are your unwanted things…now imagine those things melting away beneath this powerful full moon.

2.20.20 | 7:45-9:15pm

OH MY GOODNESS!  We met for our first New Moon Circle collab of MoonRise and Wild Souls this past Friday night and the atmosphere was absolute MAGIC. Lisa and I CANNOT wait for the next!

The moon represents deep feminine wisdom. Engaging regularly with the moon cycles is a powerful way to become intimately connected with the phases of birth, death, and rebirth.

In our lives, we too are constantly moving through these cycles, seasons, and changes. Connecting to and working with the moon as she cycles, creates a life of deeper meaning and more authentic connection as we are able to live a life with more awareness and intention.

Join us in a women’s circle as we practice grounding techniques, breath work and development of our intuition. Some light, gentle yoga will be infused. We will share space with each other to receive, connect, and create.

What to Bring:
Yoga mat
Water Bottle
Journal or paper to write on

2.27.20 | 6:00-8:00pm

The reaction when I teased this event  at the January Full Moon Flow was PRICELESS.  I've thought back to it at least a handful of times since, you were SO EXCITED and it made me smile big!  I can't wait for this one either.

Our yoga mat can be one of the most powerful places we put our dreams into action.

Let's come together for an all levels yoga flow. We'll begin with powerful Vinyasa to ignite our dreams before surrendering into a melty yin practice.

After we flow, we'll join for a social hour and make dream catchers.

Dream catchers were traditionally created and used by Native American tribes to protect sleeping people, usually children, from bad dreams and nightmares. Native Americans believe that the night air is filled with dreams, both good and bad. When hung above the bed in a place where the morning sunlight can hit it, the dream catcher attracts and catches all sorts of dreams and thoughts into its webs. Good dreams pass through and gently slide down the feathers to comfort the sleeper below. Bad dreams, however, are caught up in its protective net and destroyed, burned up in the light of day. The shape of the dreamcatcher is a circle because it represents the circle of life and how forces like the sun and moon travel each day and night across the sky. The dream catcher web catches the bad dreams during the night and dispose of them when the day comes. As for the good dreams, the feathers act as a fluffy, pillow-like ladder that allows them to gently descend upon the sleeping person undisturbed.

SPRING 2020 | date + time tba

What you celebrate expands.

What area of your life would you love to EXPAND more?

NOURISH : a mini self care staycation (just an afternoon) quarterly series.

We come together for a unique community self care sess to nourish our hearts, minds and bodies.

Spring 2020 : GROUND, CREATE, EXPAND :

First, we gather as a community to get to know one another and for a bullet journal exercise to tap into the areas in our lives in which we would love to expand a bit.

Next, we unroll our mats for GROUNDING VinYin yoga (light on the vinyasa, heavy on the yin) inspired by our personal desires and intentions.

Post yoga, we'll each CREATE a succulent terrarium over tea and light snacks. (Think heavy on the FUN & community, super cool DIY we get to bring home as a  continual reminder of what we are nourishing.)

Last, with journals in hand we'll EXPAND our minds & hearts as we are led in a community inspiration and discussion by a very special guest, one of my favorite inspirational speakers.

Thank you for reading.

I hope that this journal is a happy love note in your inbox.

xo, jenny
