All roads point to seeding and sowing.
When I started these newsletters, I wanted them to be anything but a reflection of the fear-mongering that often occurs in the spiritual world. Being a 12-year Catholic school transplant – transplanted to my own world where religion is now a charcuterie of ideologies to adapt versus singular practices to subscribe to – I know all about fear-mongering. I don't think we can fully emancipate ourselves from fear, but we can learn to flow with the tides of change. Every so often, a lunation comes along that directly reflects the very fire that birthed this very powerful outlet. After what's been a crazy Mercury Retrograde season, this is exactly how I feel about this Super Full Moon in Virgo. Stay tuned in for guidance on how to use its energy to self-care and cultivate mind, body, soul wellness.
If you looked outside and was WOW'd by the size and clarity of the moon, it's because this Full Moon is a Super Moon, characterized by it's close proximity to Earth and it's heightened effects on all natural inhabitants, including us. Basically, if you're feeling a little all over the place, it's probably a product of the moon waves, Mercury stationing direct after being retrograde, and Neptune doing an interpretive dance with Sun.
Stick with me while I make sense of this astro jargon.
Mercury has been in retrograde for the past few weeks, which means we've been experiencing slower, possibly more convoluted communication, and many the rude awakening. (Many, many, many for me. More on that in the March Oracle Scopes, Glow Getters and Master Manifestors.) This Super Full Moon, which is in Virgo, the planet of order, truth-seeking, and organization, appears like a breath of fresh air as Mercury simultaneously stations direct.
Divine time is just that – divine – and it occurs in ebbs and flows to give us here on earth a chance to digest, learn, and then come up for air. Following a few weeks of imposed shadow work and difficult lessons about accountability in regards to the decisions that impact our wellness, this Full Moon casts a cleansing light on our path. We're being given the opportunity to use this energy to give back to ourselves, to refuel the spaces that we've let deplete. The past few lunations have been ushering us to remember wtf we are, but now the energy is ripe of transformative action. This is the time to collect the energy we've been distributing and focus on allocating it only to ourselves.
Though Virgo is the astrological equivalent of the person that does the entire group project on their own, uber-spiritual Neptune is aligned with the Sun, giving the air an ethereal quality. This can also make for frustration and fogginess, so stay the course and affirm the following:
I am my own disciple, my own devotee. I see my shadows, acknowledge my part in the perpetuation of my separation, and choose to mend my connections to Spirit and to myself. Every decision I make fuels my mind, body, and soul, and is rooted in compassion. Every decision I make brings me closer to my truest self, the highest human expression of my divinity.
Astrologer Mark Borax said it best: "As old systems crumble, we must harvest magic out of chaos." As much as it feels like we're climbing through our own rubble, use that rubble to create a stairway to our own personal heaven. How? I'll be demonstrating my own upcoming journey to "spring back" into myself on Instagram, but here are some Full Moon in Virgo self-care ideas:
- deep cleanse your space and donate what doesn't serve you
- do a Full Moon ritual and release what is weighing heavy
- take a yoga, exercise, or dance class
- complete a 2020 Claim of Abundance and create a written plan for your dreams
- challenge yourself to 40 days of plant-based eating with #WholeGlow40
- start that new project that's been on the brain for a while
Whatever it is you decide to do, make sure it is restorative. As students of life – and people of 2020 – we're quick to look for ways to outsource our healing. Let this serve as a reminder that we were born with our own spiritual medicine, and that the unique guiding light we search for in everything and everyone is already in us.
