Dearest friends,
It's a wild time. I know you're getting many emails right now about measures being taken in light of Covid-19. As we hunker down to protect each other, I'm adding my voice to the chorus to let you know what's happening at Lark Acupuncture+Wellness and suggest ways for us to connect during these uncertain weeks (at least) ahead.
Before I jump to logistics, how is your breath? Where can you feel it in your body? Whatever your answer to these questions, I want to recommend that you take up a daily practice of some kind. Now, more than ever, these are vital lifelines to keep us present and resilient. I'll repeat what you've already heard in my office: Headspace and Calm are two great resources for guided meditation, which strengthens your lungs and improves immunity, among other benefits. Add it to your hygiene practices to get yourself in a routine. For online yoga, I love Glo. And, if you scroll down, you'll see that I'm also teaching Pilates online (via my Instagram for now, and Zoom soon). Your favorite in-person yoga teachers are likely teaching online, too.
Now, the details.
My in-person appointments are closed through March 31st. I'd planned to resume in-person business at Back Benders on April 1st, but we're rolling with the punches. I know you're in need and I sincerely hope that we will be able to return to some semblance of in-person treatments in April, even if on a limited basis.
I will continue to offer my normal remote BodyTalk appointments Mondays through Fridays, and you'll see this reflected in my online schedule. You can book an appointment with me in the button below, or reply to this email to ask me more about this way of working. More on this in the next paragraphs.
A note about remote sessions: I have been working with people via remote BodyTalk sessions for 8 years, and this way of working remains a big part of my practice. I have always loved the opportunity to connect with many of you all over the world via this method. Right now, it's our best option to connect, and I'm so excited to have it!
For some of you, this might feel like a stretch, and I understand that--I've been there. I've been so pleasantly surprised by my own results that it's the main way I receive care. While appointments don't include needles or hands on work, of course, we can work just as effectively with every health concern--pain, anxiety, digestive issues, emotional discomfort, chronic and acute health issues, just to name a few--via the same methods, using muscle testing from afar and listening to what your body is saying. So, I invite those of you who are used to seeing me in-person to try working with me from a distance. Below, I'm including an Instagram post from a few years ago explaining the science behind this method.
I will still be teaching my regular Silver Lake Yoga schedule on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9am. For the time being, I am teaching via my Instagram profile, @lark_acu, where the live video stays up for 24 hours. You can work out either live with us or anywhere in that 24 hour window. I'm new to this format and my dogs are curious, so if you're interested in my lo-fi learning curve, bring your humor! I'd love to see you. The proceeds from these classes will be donated to Silver Lake Yoga, a place I've taught for 8 years and that I hold very dear to my heart. When Silver Lake Yoga moves to Zoom, this will shift, but I'll likely still keep a class on Instagram. I will keep you posted.
I'm still brainstorming ways for us to connect as we hold space for what's to come, but these will likely include virtual classes and one-on-one instruction. I'll also be sharing more to Instagram--I've been involved in the alternative health space for a long time and have a lot to share as our focus shifts toward preserving our health and the health of the most vulnerable. Keep your eyes peeled.
I love working with you. More than ever, I am committed to providing space for your wellness, vibrancy and transformation as we change with the world.
With love and hope,
Tori
