I Hope You are Doing Well!

What have you been up to?  This newsletter is similar in some ways to my normal newsletter, but during these unusual times, I have focused on a list of some of my favorite resources, from podcasts to books to Sew-Alongs! I also have a Give-Away for you at the end. So let's stay home, stay safe and #SewSomeFun!

Ideas to Try:

I am watching the Great British Sewing Bee on Youtube. You never know how long it will remain up there before being pulled off, but right now, all 5 seasons are there, commercial free! (scroll down to see them).

The libraries are closed, but check out your library's homepage and see if they offer a free subscription to Overdrive or Hoopla for books you can download or listen to (my library offers both) Books listed below are Simply Tuesday and Roots and Sky.

Books I am currently Enjoying!

Join a Sewing Challenge and expand your skills. Of course, we would love for you to join Sew Some Fun,  connect on Facebook and show us what you are sewing! (We will be tackling something we have never sewn before in April, and I am taking on pants!) but there are tons of Sewing Challenges! You will find a list in this post.

Host a virtual sew along with your friends. Zoom is free for 40 minute calls.

The lovely and talented Barbara Meger will be hosting a Christmas ornament smock-along on the SAGA Smock-Along Facebook group page. Join the group now and info will be coming.

Go for a walk outside (if you are allowed) and leave your devices at home. Spring is just beginning to arrive, so get some vitamin D and notice all the changes. If you are stuck inside, my favorite exercise videos on YouTube are Yoga with Adriene and Walk at Home.

Listen to a podcast. My favorite sewing podcast is Love to Sew. I am also enjoying The Next Right Thing by Emily P. Freeman. I have started at the beginning and am working my way forward. She has wonderful thoughts to encourage you during these difficult times.

Tackle a Puzzle! We are going to do the Loons.

Join a Sew-Along!

Sew, Sew, Sew! and support your local sewing shop as you do. Most brick and mortar craft businesses from local fabric stores, to yarn shops to needlepoint stores are offering delivery or curbside pick up, so start a new project and order your supplies. If you don't have someone local, online shops would love your business right now. If you need notions, JoAnns, Michaels and of course, Amazon deliver.

give-away! A subscription to the  learn to Smock Course. Drawing will be on Monday. All newsletter subscribers are entered!

If you know someone who would like to be entered in the Give-Away, they simply need to sign up for my newsletter.

Happy Sewing,

Lisa

During these anxious time, just a reminder:

"The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27.
