14 Day "You Got This" Challenge

DAY 9

Tighten up your SEO

Day 9: Tighten up your SEo

Today we are focusing on your SEO (Search Engine Optimization).  Having great SEO will allow your website to rank better in search engines (like Google).   Ranking higher or on the first page of a search will drive more traffic to your website.

SEO is a long-term marketing strategy so what you do in the coming weeks can help you later in the year.

We are excited to have Dubsado user, Pri Kruijen, give us some tips today! She is an award-winning SEO specialist who has been supporting small businesses since 2009. She runs Brilliantly Visible, an agency that specializes in SEO strategies that can be implemented in 30-minutes or less.

Quick SEO TIPS👇

Here are some quick tips that that can be done in 30-minutes or less:

Increase your E-A-T (Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness)

  • Update your about me page with recent photos of you, badges from any publications where you’ve had features or awards you’ve won.
  • Use fun stats about your business to show your expertise and increase your social proof. Instead of saying you have been shooting destination weddings for 10-years, say you’ve ‘flown 15,320 miles across the globe to capture couples’. Instead of saying you’ve worked with multiple clients across a number of different fields, use the phrase ‘trusted by 5,000 web designers’

Make sure you have your Google tools set up correctly

  • Google Search Console: covers everything before someone arrives at your website (including your keywords)
  • Google Analytics: covers everything all activity on your website. Sign up for a free masterclass on how to set up your account and make the most out of your reports
  • Google My Business: covers local searchers for businesses that target a specific area

Dive deeper into your keyword research

  • Use Answer the Public to come up with new content topic ideas. Sign up for this masterclass to learn about more keyword research tools and tricks.
  • Go through your direct messages and emails to see how your clients describe you and add those across your website
  • Review what keywords you are already ranking for in Google Search Console and update your website content. Place the keyword in as many places as you can fit in your natural language. Placing the keyword in the page title (what shows at the browser window) as well as the description of the site is important. Other places to add key words is within headings and sub headings. Finally, add the keyword into different parts of your websites page body

Have fun SEO-ing!  Can't wait for Day 10! 📷
