"We don't have to do the most, we just have to do what's best."

A gem by astrologer Nadine Jane that pretty much sums up everything about this seemingly confusing New Moon in Aries. I don't want to make this long or prescriptive, but I do want to offer as much clarity and guidance as I'm being guided to offer you right now. Being a conscious creator amidst this mess is really, really difficult to say the least. But I've always promised to do right by you all, my tribe, as long as I am creating, so let's go. Let's break down how we can best work with the energy of this New Moon to cultivate mind, body soul wellness during this unsure season.

As previously stated, the New Moon is in Aries, characterized by the fire sign's heir of passion, independence, and can-do, should-do, will-do attitude. We're also amidst the start of the new astrological year which occurs at the turn of every spring equinox, which this year coincided with the start of Aries season. All this new new! Typically, this would be the time that we serve the Universe with the shiniest intentions for a brighter personal future, but this year is different...obviously.

Seriously though, this year, all of this new new is met in conjunction with Chiron, the planet/comet that orbits the sun and is named after the Greek god of healers/teachers. Chiron, known as "the wounded healer," is highlighting our need to heal right now. Yes, the entire world is dealing with major health issues, but this wounded void is much larger than that. COVID-19 has done horrible things to Mother Earth and humanity, but I'm urging you to do your part in containing it while still seeing it for what it is in the grand scheme – a course correction. And as microcosms to the macrocosm that is the vast, all-powerful Universe, we have to sit with ourselves and see where our our own journeys are twisting, turning, and halting for change.

If you've been feeling slowed down, frustrated, angry even...feel it. We're all living in this together and it is no coincidence. The planetary movements and conjunctions we've been talking about for months and months have led us to this moment. This is not a moment of fear, but of global unification. Regardless of what our individual positions are, everyone on the entire planet is experiencing this pandemic together. How does that statement make you feel?

You know how I always remind us that we should listen to how Source urges us to move or we will in turn be moved? This is us, all of civilization, being moved...into compassion and conscious action. As parts of the whole, we're also being moved into compassion and conscious action.

What can you do under the influence of this New Moon?

  • Allow ourselves to be fueled by the energy of Aries, not to be angry and start new projects if it doesn't feel right, but to be fueled to make change in your life exactly where you are (ie. I started another course of #WholeGlow40 today, my 40-day plant-based cleanse to reset my mind, body, and spirit)

  • Honor Chiron's call by being still (at home of course), and thinking of ways to best nurture yourself from the inside out. What can you do for more mental health, physical stability, and spiritual connectedness? If a cleanse seems necessary, do that. If you feel like being super active one day, and laying down with the all the episodes of "Tiger King" the next day (have ya'll seen that show?!), then do that. If you're crystals and herbs, a salt bath before bed, or streaming your favorite pastor preaching online is more your vibe, then do that too.

  • Honor Chiron's call by being compassionate and acting consciously in the world. Support others while out doing necessary tasks, shop with your mind and not with your ego, be patient with your kids or kids who may be learning remotely for the first time ever, be patient with people around you who may be working from home for the first time, tip the DJs who are spinning us into joy via livestream, the list goes on and on. Lead with your heart.

  • Focus less on setting intentions for what you think you want right now, and focus more on tuning in and intending to surrender to wherever the Universe is asking you to go on your journey.

On a personal note, I am not a medical professional or deemed essential personnel in any right, but I have been called to remind you that I am a vehicle for consciousness and change. Although I am working through my own personal wellness battles at the moment, please don't hesitate to reach out should you need support, a recommendation, or a light-filled prayer. Either which way, I am here. Thank you for being here for me.

Peace – Melanie

New Moon in Aries

  • "At the time of this New Moon, the asteroid Chiron, known as the wounded healer, will also be very active. We will be drawn to think about ways to heal, ourselves, each other, and the planet. Whatever we have been neglecting or ignoring when it comes to our wellbeing, Chiron will guide us there and ask us to sit with it until we can feel whole again.

"Under all of this fiery Aries energy, we may feel wound up or extra emotional if we don’t give ourselves a healthy outlet to express it. Be mindful of allowing your emotions to boil over and try to act from a place of calm and ease. Take your time, think things through, and don’t be impulsive." Forever Conscious

  • "There may be a tendency towards meanness, short tempers, judgment, self-centeredness, feeling victimized, blame and criticism. Let's not go there. Instead use this potent fiery energy to start something new as we are still in the influence of the Equinox energy."The Power Path

  • "Generally, this New Moon is a time to initiate projects, get started, get motivated. But the conjunction to Chiron shows that we are dealing with health issues, lack of energy, old wounds. I think we are all feeling a little war wounded right now! But still, Chiron says where there is pain, there is healing." – LUA Astrology
  • "In Aries, the sign of the self, and conjunct Chiron, the new moon reminds us of the importance of addressing our pain and suffering. Chiron’s myth tells the story of a powerful healer who is wounded but cannot heal that wound. Chiron teaches us that we are not above the suffering that we encounter, we are not above the vulnerability of being human, we are not above how fragile the web of life really is." – Chani Nicholas

  • "CHIRON'S involvement in the New Moon suggests that we are very aware of a wound. Aries is a highly energized sign, and Chiron indicates that our energy and independent initiative are subdued at this time. But Chiron never exposes a wound without giving us the means to heal it. This means that we should also have the opportunity to begin a healing process during the coming lunar cycle."

"In Aries, the Chironic wound is related to our capacity to be leaders and pioneers. It is found in those who may have the passion and ideas that will make a difference, but who lack the confidence needed to step into a leadership role. On an individual level, the healing potential of this Aries New Moon is that each of us gains the internal strength, courage, and spiritual fire that enable us to take charge of our lives in new ways." – North Point Astrology

  • "During this time, we are called to heal the wounded masculine both within ourselves and the world at large. Rugged individualism no longer works, if it ever did. Truly, we’re all in this together. So at this New Moon, focus on healing yourself, especially the part of you that wants to tough it out alone. Reach out to others for support, or step up to help elders and community members who are struggling." – Moon Circles

New Moon intentions

Affirm alignment on your journey.

  • I transform the aspects of my mental, physical, and spiritual self that keep me latched onto fear. I am connected to the Universe, therefore I already have the guidance I need to excel on my path.

  • I am connected to a non-stop flow of light, guidance, and abundance.

  • I flow with the healing energy being surged through the earth right now.

  • I flow with transformation, gracefully allowing what no longer serves me to wash away, and what is necessary to my evolution to come into my life.

  • I trust the inner workings of the Universe. I question nothing because I am infinitely blessed with opportunities beyond my human dreams.
