I taught a live streamed yin class this past Friday evening and spoke about the Ripple Effect. It struck me this week how even during these more socially isolated times, the ripple effect makes an incredible impact. I've seen it first hand over and over again. I've also experienced so many acts of kindness personally this week (countless) that have changed my mood and day and have made me inspired to turn and pay it forward.
It's a powerful thing, even now. Especially now.
We all have unique gifts that we can offer up, and we each have a special opportunity to make a really large positive impact on someone else. It's my personal challenge to you this week....how can you, even during times when you're not with as many people in person, use your unique gifts to make someone smile and create a ripple effect? We need this more than ever.
Dalai Lama XIV says " Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into the water, the actions of individuals can have far-reaching effects."

For me, yin is my complete go to self care method. Whether it's one pose or an hour of bliss, restorative yoga is what allows me to release mind and body. I truly feel that this method is essential right now - and the beauty is that yin is SO simple to practice at home. My yinners know that the hardest part of practicing yin is the drive home after once you're "yinned" out....well, we've got our wish lol, now you can roll right into bed after you're done!
What you'll need : yoga blocks & bolsters if you have them...a bed pillow and blanket if you don't.
Tuesdays, 6pm MST
Haha yup!...we are practicing hot yoga at home. If you're hot yoga-obsessed and missing your practice, my suggestion would be to shower before practice and unroll your mat after in your steamy bathroom. You could also use a space heater to move the temp up a bit. Another suggestion is to practice in front of your fireplace. If you can't bring the heat up or don't care about the heat, please join me anyway. The hot yoga sequence is a beautifully crafted, consistent sequence that you can really get to know and predict in your body. It's truly the consistency of this sequence that I personally love.
What you'll need : a yoga mat. A heated space if you prefer.

What area of your life would you love to EXPAND more?
NOURISH : a mini self care staycation (just an afternoon) quarterly series.
We come together for a unique community self care sess to nourish our hearts, minds and bodies.
Spring 2020 : GROUND, CREATE, EXPAND :
First, we gather as a community to get to know one another and for a bullet journal exercise to tap into the areas in our lives in which we would love to expand a bit.
Next, we unroll our mats for GROUNDING VinYin yoga (light on the vinyasa, heavy on the yin) inspired by our personal desires and intentions.
Post yoga, we'll each CREATE a succulent terrarium over tea and light snacks. (Think heavy on the FUN & community, super cool DIY we get to bring home as a continual reminder of what we are nourishing.)
Last, with journals in hand we'll EXPAND our minds & hearts as we are led in a community inspiration and discussion by a very special guest, one of my favorite inspirational speakers.
