We have been working diligently on a plan to safely bring library services back to the Crafton community. Consulting guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and the Pennsylvania Office of Commonwealth Libraries, we have put together a series of three stages to responsibly phase in library services.
Though our building will remain closed, the library's first stage of reopening will begin on Monday, June 15th with no-contact curbside pickup of materials. This will only include materials in Crafton's collection or ordered materials that had arrived at our library prior to the March 14th closure. Online ordering and countywide delivery of materials are not available at this time.
To schedule a no-contact curbside pickup, we ask that you call the library at 412-922-6877 to speak with a staff member about the materials you would like to pick up. You will be asked for your library card number or two other unique identifiers. The staff member will place your request and offer options for pickup times.
When you arrive at the library at your pickup time, please remain in your vehicle or wait on the bench outside and call the library to notify us of your arrival. A staff member will place your checked out materials on a cart outside of the library doors. Please wait until the staff member has returned to the building before exiting your vehicle or approaching the cart to retrieve your materials.
All returned materials must be placed in the book drop to the right of the library doors. Returned materials will be quarantined for a minimum of three days before they are checked in. Please be aware that the materials will remain checked out to you for the quarantine period but will be backdated to the day they were returned. No fines will accrue.
Staff will be at the library to accept phone calls and fill orders beginning Monday, June 15th for limited hours as follows:
