Hi Community,
It's been a heavy week.
To our Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) readers: I see you. I hear you. I hold you close to my heart, and I will do everything within my power to fight for you.
To our white readers: I have been heartened to see so many speak out against racism and condemn the violence inflicted upon Black communities. But it's taken too long for us to hear BIPOC and take action.
If you've been on social media this weekend and follow any Black activists or social justice advocates, you should have your marching orders. I've been awed by how many of the BIPOC people I follow have taken the time and energy to call on white folx and give us VERY clear and specific instructions on how to support them and be actively anti-racist.
It's on us to follow through.
When looking at overcoming a problem as large as systemic racism, it can be overwhelming at first glance. But the key is in the name. If racism is systemic, we can make anti-racism systemic as well.
We can demand anti-racism education in our schools and workplaces. We can root our relationships in an anti-racist foundation and hold each other accountable in our conversations. We can practice anti-racism every single day, just like we do with so many other wellness practices.
This includes my own work. As a business owner and community creator, I am complicit in systemic racism if I am not taking steps to be actively anti-racist and also instill these values within Three Moon Collective.
While we are preparing to launch The Libration for our community on June 10th, we are also reviewing our structure and our approach. And for this month's cause, we are donating 10% of profits to the Black Visions Collective in Minnesota.
This should be standard operating procedure for all white allies. And we need to hold each other accountable. If you see opportunities where we or other organizations could do better, please use your voice to tell us.
Let's get to work.
xo,
