As America turned itself inside out, I've been one of many that have stopped to publicly acknowledge my privileges while standing and applying pressure in solidarity of Black people everywhere. While reflecting on the lanes I'm occupying in this revolution, I realize that one of them is that of a healing visionary and caregiving guide.
Basically, whether you've been a member here for a while, or you pay attention to what I have to say when I'm chatting on socials, I've been telling ya'll a revolution was upon us. So don't expect anything other than the deliverance of guidance I usually give you so that you can self-care yourself into optimum existence.
Funny I should say that...because that's a soft way to wrap up the civil war outside our windows.
This Friday we welcome a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius. Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, is the philosopher of the zodiac and is associated with law, religion and medicine: three institutions that, goes without saying, continue to shape our world in many ways.
We'll get to specifics right after I explain the magnitude of importance to which we should regard this Lunar Eclipse in Sag. First off, Eclipses are major. They bring changes, shifts, and breakthroughs of cosmic proportions. (No pun intended.) Not only is this the first of a cluster of three eclipses occurring from now until July 5, but its energy commands singular focus. One vision, one goal. Here's how astrologer Cathy Pagano defines them:
"Eclipses are extra potent New and Full Moons that occur when the planes of the Sun, Moon, and Earth meet at two points in space, called the Lunar Nodes. These nodes are believed to be points which show us the lessons we've come into this life to learn, both by what we leave behind (South Node) and what we have to learn (North Node)."
In this case, the South Node is this Full Moon in Sagittarius. With Sag being the great interrogator, the evaluator, and truth seeker, we're being encouraged to reevaluate the belief systems and ideologies that we've outgrown. If we zoom out on America, this is painfully obvious. If you zoom into your personal life, your mind, your body, and your spirit, what is Divine energy applying pressure on for you to acknowledge and change?
The Full Moon Eclipse in Sag is also forming a square with Mars and Neptune. The fancy astrological terms aren't as important as the fact that these conjunctions inject the air, already piping hot with the urgency of reform, with Mars' motions for driven conflict and Neptunes dreamy inspirations of the future. If our Neptunian minds can dream of a more peaceful, just future, the Mars in us will fight for it.
Now that we know what and how we're being influenced to let go, let's talk about the lessons we're meant to learn with the North Node, the Sun in Gemini.
Gemini governs everything communication and versatility. Also in Gemini is Venus which has been retrograde since the beginning of May, asking us to reevaluate our relationships to the people, things, and mindsets that shape our lives. Putting these two together in the North Node is a recipe for researching, sharing resources and plans, and learning how to exist in compassion and alignment for the greater good.
I invite you to think about these Universal truths for a moment. To compare your possible exhaustion, whether it be from front-lining, healing and working (COVID is still going strong, folx), protesting, posting and reposting, leading difficult conversations, or deep self-examination, with the possibilities laid out in these cosmic insights.
Is it true that these planets will influence us to create a better world? Maybe. But is it true that taking a lead on this energy and dissecting patterns of deficiency in the major structures that uphold our lives, taking back our power, and making a commitment to learning how to exist as better people creates a better world?
