From our sanctuary to yours...

LOOKING BACK & UP AHEAD!

As the end of another school year closes in, I can’t help but think of Adventure Wednesdays. It was always the same, the first day of summer break...pj’s and a "do nothing" day. Our shoulders would slouch and we would exhale knowing we were done with the running, at least for now. There was no schedule, no routine, no expectations besides collecting our dreams on the craft paper rolled out across the kitchen floor that would map out our goals for Adventure Wednesdays

I'm reminded of those first days of summer break because it has been a very long haul and it's important to acknowledge the road we have walked, to decompress and dream. This unprecedented time has been marked by moments of incredible loss and tremendous awakenings - days that I will ponder for a very long time. My hope is that as you look back, you can mourn the losses but carry any beauty discovered into the recesses of your heart. And as you look ahead to the lingering summer days, may your Adventure Wednesdays be sun-kissed and filled with laughter & innocent awe.

At the sanctuary, we are grateful for the friends, animals and inspiration that give us purpose. We also dream of the adventures that the coming weeks of summer promise...with less screen time and more nature time. In that knowing, we have decided that while you won’t see us weekly, we will check in with ideas and inspiration so you know we always have you covered. We are grateful to walk this remarkable season with you. On behalf of all of us at the sanctuary, thank you.

 Environment, we got you covered!

Sanctuary Pollinator Garden

This week, we began planting the perennials that will fill the sanctuary's 6,000 foot pollinator garden. So many companies and people donated their time and energy towards this project and we could not be more grateful. And remember the plants you purchased to honor loved ones on Mother's and Father's Day? Here they are! A testament to your love that will bloom forever.

Sanctuary Nature Cam

Look who popped in to say "hi"! The sanctuary's nature cams help us keep a watchful eye over the beautiful wildlife who call the sanctuary home. Deer, rabbits, coyotes, racoons, foxes, squirrels, birds, and bobcats are just a few of the animals who make this sanctuary their own.
