What’s your favorite thing in your home?

I never planned on falling in love with my home. The first time I saw the house, it had been abandoned & boarded up-- definitely not a "love at first sight" story. But we could see the vision & passion of the owner-architect who built it for his own family. And on the day of the open house, I realized I had fallen head over heels...and decided to keep it.

One of the most rewarding parts of a remodel is bringing some aspect of the initial design back to life. My home is no exception. We knew that restoring the beams & ceiling would allow us to show an appreciation for the original 1970s architecture & also make it look & feel modern. This is one of my favorite things.

The wrought iron chandelier was another focal point design element authentic to the house. We chose to highlight this feature by updating it with new bulbs & simple repurposed glass tumblers. The juxtaposition of old & new is what I love most about design...breathing life into neglected spaces with a nod to the past & letting them shine again. 

When I began my Real Estate career in Albuquerque over 25 years ago, I never dreamed it would become such a gratifying creative endeavor. I deeply enjoy the architectural process of restoring function & value back to neglected properties. Even more than design, I relish my role as liaison for my clients. There is nothing more rewarding than helping someone realize their dream of home ownership or supplying the tools for a smooth transaction. My fulfillment comes from helping my clients achieve their goals & my metric of success is their satisfaction.  I would love the opportunity to assist you in finding your favorite things in a new home!
