WEEKEND UPDATE

Hello Friends!

Hello ladies!

Happy Independence Day! Hope you were able to have some fun this weekend. It certainly is different than July 4th weekends of the past -- but you don't need me to tell you that!

Friday afternoon my husband, middle son and I went into Boston for the first time since February. It was great to be in the city again, and things seem to be (slowly) getting back to some semblance of "normal". We went to the Seaport to see where my son's office will be next summer and then out to lunch at one of our old favorites, the Sail Loft. Any locals remember how they used to have big jars of Oreos on the bar back in the day? Needless to say, they don't anymore... But it was still fun. Then, of course we had to take a quick walk over to Hanover Street and Mike's Pastry. I was ready for bed at about 6pm on Friday #granny.

The rest of the weekend has been spent at home, a familiar theme. (Needless to say, this is a really good time to have a backyard pool). We're having some friends to the pool later today, and looking forward to seeing other humans -- even from 6 feet apart.

A special thanks to those of you who responded to my B.Styled survey. Your responses will help me develop future content and programs to address your needs. In the meantime, I'm taking some time off this summer (my carpal tunnel is flaring up again...Anyone have tips for me on that??)  I'll be dropping in each week the Weekend Update though! Enjoy your JULY...the best month of the year!  (P.S. If you'd like to take the survey you can get to it here).

Now, here's a rundown on what went on at B.Styled this past week:

I wore this versatile maxi to lunch in Boston on Friday along with the fantastic white denim jacket. This dress can truly be worn dressy or very casually. I tie a knot in the hem to make it more casual and to shorten it a bit. Or you can wear it long with wedge heeled sandals. It's the perfect dress for accessorizing too. I'm wearing a new layered coin necklace I just got and love. It's also versatile: the coin is reversible and it can be worn long or pre-layered.

Everyone asks about the "bra situation" with a top like this (or the dress above).  My advice is to either wear a bra with the straps intentionally showing, like the strappy sports bra  (fun in a contrasting color or black or white) or a lacey bralette -- or go with a strapless. But skip those bras with the clear or nude straps that are supposed to be "invisible" - because they aren't ;)  I give options below...and fear not, strapless bras have come a long way!

This white ponte blazer/jacket clearly checks the VERSATILITY box✅...I find myself throwing it on constantly. It's comfy, stretchy, lapel-less, machine-washable, with just enough structure. And if you're a ZOOMER....this little number is an easy way to add instant polish to your Work From Home pajamas....outfits 🤓👌😍
