US TikTok Ban?
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has stated that the US government is "looking at" banning Chinese social media apps in the US, including TikTok. There isnāt much more detail on this matter at the moment but we are all watching it closely!
How This TikTok Bartender Reached 2.7 Million Followers
You might have already heard of the @TheParadise.Bartender. She's based in Hawaii and shares her delicious drinks on TikTok. She just started her account in January she went viral quickly, but it wasnāt purely by accident.
How did she do it? āI did my research. I studied how people think TikTokās algorithm works. I went and found the charts that show when people watch my TikToks, when I get the best views. In the beginning, I had been posting unregulated. Iāve done some livestreams too from when Iām working. Everybody wants to be behind the scenes. They want to get to know me a little more, and I answer their questions.ā
TikTok Withdrawing from Hong Kong
Hong Kong is undergoing some scary changes, āreleasing rules that give the police powers to take down internet posts and punish internet companies that do not comply with data requests. The new rules explicitly give the authorities the ability to jail employees at internet companies if the firms do not comply with requests for user data.ā
As a response, possibly to protect its usersā data, TikTok prompted announced that it would be withdrawing the app from access in Hony Kong.
