Hello ladies!
We're in the full swing of summer here - technically at least. I have days when I get bummed, mourning "real summer" but I try to snap out of it quickly and remember how much I have to be grateful for and how much worse it could be. I realize the lack of social time with friends has started to take its toll, so I'm making more of an effort to see friends outside while we can. I love my hub and kids and mom, but I need my girlfriends and the instant mood-boost they provide!
Lots of talk around here about returning to school and what that will look like. The two college guys go back in exactly a month - God willing - and as of now their schools seem to have good plans in place. We all know that can change in a heartbeat though, but we're cautiously optimistic.
As for my rising HS senior, I have no idea what his last year of high school will look like, not to mention the college admissions process, but we'll take it a day at a time. For now, he's living the dream going from golf to baseball to beach to pool and days on end at the Cape...so I'm not feeling very sorry for him ;)
His job starts August 15th. Hopefully!
The other challenge over here in the Roy house has been the dead AC unit for our upstairs that needs to be replaced $$...and the fact that it will take weeks to do so....and the fact that it's been about 80-90 degrees up there.
I'm grateful for the pool and that our main floor and basement are cool, but poor Mary! Of course she "loves" the heat, so thanks to a good friend loaning a high-quality fan (thanks Liv;) she's happy as a (very warm) clam.
Hope this finds you and your family doing well...my thoughts and prayers are with all of you and here's to better days ahead...soon, I hope.
