Amazon Backtracks From Demand That Employees Delete TikTok
Another edge-of-the-seat headline that hit the news Friday was the shocking notification that Amazon required ALL of their employees to delete TikTok off their phones.
The tech giant stated in an email that was obtained by the NYT that stated “Amazon officials said that because of “security risks,” employees must delete the app from any devices that “access Amazon email.” Employees had to remove the app by Friday to remain able to obtain mobile access to their Amazon email, the note said.”
However, 5 hours later, the email was retracted and was claimed to have been “sent in error.”
TikTok Teens Are 'Going to War' Against the Trump Campaign After Republicans Call to Ban the App
The news of TikTok’s potential ban from the Trump administration have left (especially) younger users infuriated. “For Gen Z and Millennials, TikTok is our clubhouse and Trump threatened it,” said Yori Blacc, a 19-year-old TikTok user in California who joined in the app protest. “If you’re going to mess with us, we will mess with you.”
Though the likelihood of the app’s actual ban is pretty slim, teens are using their voices to express their frustrations by placing over 700 negative reviews in Trump’s reelection app on the app store.
Top Gamer Ninja Deletes TikTok Over Privacy Concerns
One of TikTok’s heavy hitters decided to take a stand and remove the app because of privacy concerns. The rejection of a highly influential gamer like Ninja is the latest blow to TikTok and to other loyal followers.
However, despite the concern, Ninja’s account still remains intact and was last seen active on Thursday. "I have deleted the TikTok app off all my devices. Hopefully a less intrusive company (data farming) that isn’t owned by China can recreate the concept legally, such funny and amazing content on the app from influencers,” Ninja tweeted to his 6 million followers.
