I sit here thinking about everything going on in the world today, not just with the pandemic, but with the way we humans treat each other. Our media and social media feeds on the hate, anger and fear in the world and makes you believe that that is the world today. I know there is a lot of light and love in the world too, I see it all the time in our small community, people helping people.
How do we shield ourselves from this type of pollution? How do we avoid 'catching' it? There are days I feel strong standing in the light and love of the universe and there are days I get caught up in the fear and anger and some of you can see those times by my Facebook posts. I try to stay positive, but in those times, I notice my Facebook posts are anything but pro-positive and only fueling the fear and anger and even hate. I don't like myself when this happens, and I don't like that I contribute to that energy when that happens.
So how do we as human beings stay in the light and love of the universe? How do we maintain our spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being and health? I find when I get caught up in the negative it's when I lapse on my spiritual practices such as meditation and/or receiving energy healing. I forget to be grateful and to remember how blessed I truly am.
I want to be part of the solution to the worlds discord, not adding to it and to do that I need to practice self-care, a concept we have a hard time with. So in order to honor my needs I will no longer be responding to clients who message/text/or call me on my days off (Friday and Saturday) or after my business hours, which are Sunday - Thursday 10 - 6 pm unless it is an emergency. I need to start respecting my space and time and allow myself time to recharge. By honoring myself I am able to be here for you, my clients and you deserve the best me I can give you.
How are you honoring you? What are things you do to take care of your needs? Do you practice self-care, or do you feel guilty by setting boundaries? If you do not put your needs first how can you continue to give of yourself without burning out?
Something to think about... how are you taking care of your mind, body, and spirit?
