SevenThings

A week's worth of Inspiration, Eating, Listening,

Watching, Reading, Working & Making

hey there, friend!

How are you doing this week?

My mental state has been greatly improved these past few days by letting myself be convinced to upgrade our coffee bar.  I had no idea how much I had missed fancy coffee! Our two fave shops do not have drive-through - as someone who misses northwestern coffee huts A LOT this breaks my heart.  I actually teared up a little bit when I drank the first cup.

We've also turned into bird and butterfly watchers?  Life is real weird.  Quarantine is teaching me that it all really is about the little things, so we added a birdbath with a solar fountain to our backyard.  (We've been trying to improve its status as a pollinator garden.)  I felt so much joy the first time I saw the 2 Blue Jays splashing around in it like the jerks that they are.  Actual gleeful joy!

This weekend, it sounds like we may be getting a big storm so who knows what I'll be doing!  Hopefully I'll be doing whatever with full power and internet.  Fingers crossed!

In any case, here are a few things that have kept me distracted this week.  I hope do they same for you, wherever, and however, you may be.  Keep 'ya chin up!

PIN OF THE WEEK

Cake is joyful, it's silly and it's exactly what I want to eat right now.  This shot by StudioDIY of the best cakes in Los Angeles makes me want to jump into the kitchen and get to baking!

But, I'm also super digging this color palette - I'm really into the pastels lately.
