SEPTEMBER 2020

Crafton Public Library will reopen to the public on Tuesday, September 8th at 2 PM! We are so excited to be able to welcome you back into our building with a few precautions to keep us all safe.

  • Library patrons over the age of 2 are required to wear a face covering over their mouth and nose for the entire duration of their visit. Patrons who are unable to wear a face covering will be offered alternative services to the greatest extent possible.
  • Any patron who has, or has recently experienced, a fever, cough or shortness of breath should not enter the library but are encouraged to continue to enjoy our collection of digital library materials and resources through our countywide eResources website at elibrary.einetwork.net.
  • Patrons should practice social distancing by maintaining a distance of at least 6 feet from others.
  • Patrons must be engaged in legitimate library business for the duration of their visit. This includes returning, picking up, or browsing materials, using a library computer, or printing, copying, or faxing.
  • Patrons are encouraged to keep their time in the library as limited as possible.
  • Computers will be available by appointment only on a first come, first served basis. Appointments will be one hour in length with an option to extend by one additional hour at the time of scheduling. Computers will be limited to one person per computer per appointment and one appointment per person per day. Staff will not be available to help with any computer issues—patrons must be able to navigate the technology on their own.

We have also taken precautions with our physical space. We ask that visitors pay attention to and follow the direction of all posted signage. To encourage quick visits and social distancing, we have removed most seating and made several computers unavailable. In the Children’s Room, you’ll notice that all toys and activities have been removed. We have also suspended borrowing of interactive library materials including American Girl Dolls, Preschool Grab Bags, and the Nature Backpack. At the Circulation Desk, we have added barriers to protect both you and our staff. Hand sanitizer is now available throughout the library.

Curbside Pickup service will continue for those who cannot come into the library or are more comfortable with no-contact service. Please call during business hours to schedule an appointment.

We are so appreciative of the patience, understanding, and kindness that has been shown to us, and it is our hope that this attitude continues as we welcome you back with these new procedures.

The library building will reopen with the following hours:

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 9 AM – 1 PM

Tuesday and Thursday: 2 PM – 6 PM

Saturday and Sunday: Closed
