Dear friends,

My sewing philosophy has always been “take a basic pattern, then mix it up," which is why so many of my pattern designs are simple templates that are easy to modify. Trillium (formerly Washi) is no exception, as it lends itself well to all kinds of easy variations. For my latest Trillium dress (shown above), I added patch pockets, substituted gathers for pleats to the skirt, and bound the neckline and armholes with bias binding. You can read about the details in this post on my blog: Trillium with Patch Pockets

Below are some Trillium posts I think you'll like. You can access all the blog posts and resources relating to Trillium here: made-by-rae.com/trillium

Visit the Trillium page on my blog for more resources and ideas for sewing this classic pattern.

I'd love to see your Trilliums! One way you can help get the word out about the new name and new size range is to replace your #washidress hashtags with #MBRtrillium on social media, and tag @madebyrae when you share your projects.

You might have noticed that I omitted one popular Washi post: the long sleeve. This is because we have almost finished creating a new sleeve pattern piece in the new sizes. Look for that soon (or take a peek at the old post here).

Happy sewing!!

Rae
