Daydream…I fell asleep beneath the flowers…

(Starting these newsletters with song lyrics is something I never want to stop doing.)

Let's give a warm, dreamy welcome to this week's Full Moon in Pisces. Like us, the Universe has a ton of different personalities, and they're always moving, creating, and shifting energy that affects us in many different ways. Whether is a fiery New Moon in Leo like the one we experienced two weeks ago, or a Full Moon in a water sign like this one, we have the chance to tune ourselves to the frequencies all around us so we can flow towards our ultimate potential.

Let's get into it and how we can best navigate all of this cosmic energy for healing, practical mind, body, soul self-care, and divine alignment.

I love me some Pisces energy. Ruled by Neptune, Pisces is compassionate, artistic, and super intuitive as it's the last sign of the zodiac and very connected to all that is connection. Basically, if one of the zodiacs was a psychic, it would be Pisces. We also have to take into account that it's earthy Virgo season (shoutout to all you Virgos, I love ya'll you meticulous freaks!) which means that this Full Moon in Pisces opposes the Sun in Virgo. That and the fact that it's in harmonious alignment with its ruling planet and a few other key cosmic markers means there are great opportunities to self-care and get aligned with exactly what we want. Especially as this time when it feels like the world is giving all of us the opposite.

Let's break it down.

Dive into yourself by diving into Pisces' intuitive magic.

Pisces is in harmonious flow with its ruling planet, Uranus, the planet of awakening and change. I know this entire year has been one of awakening and change, but we have to take into account that Full Moons highlight whatever was transpiring six months prior. So it's important not to glance past the “awakening and change stuff” and really ask ourselves, “What was I doing, feeling, and what was I coming to know six months ago?” Especially because six months prior to this week, we were all wrapping our heads around the word “pandemic” for the first time in our lives.

If you feel one percent of how I feel, you're exhausted, overwhelmed, and might even feel trapped by the state of the world around you. I get it. But give yourself grace because you're in process. While you're daydreaming Ă  la Pisces, think about how different you are now than you were six months ago. Even if everything seems horrible right now, practice diving in with a lens of gratitude and respect for what you've endured, and a scope of love for what's to come.

Speaking of dreaming à la Pisces, put down the to-do pad, unless you're writing affirmations or doodling your intentions for the next few months. Virgo Sun energy can have us “to-do” ourselves to death, but Pisces is here to remind us that we need and deserve to dream and rest too. It's the most important form of self-care, especially during a time when we're literally creating new worlds, for ourselves and the entire human race. Chani Nicholas put it perfectly saying:

“Pisces knows the power of restful roaming, even amidst all the unrest. The imagination must have places where it can be free to visualize new worlds to grow into. Systems of suppression want us to forgo rest, reject reflection, and refuse our systems’ need for balance. Rest restores our ability to think, feel, and know ourselves. Rest brings answers. Capitalism fetishizes the kind of numbness that is required to labor for the very thing that keeps us from accessing our power.”

Rest is resistance to the bullshit prescribed by society. Stillness is medicine for the mind, body, and soul. As mentioned, watery Pisces is all about spirituality and connection to Source energy, so appropriate self-care during this time could look like journaling about the past six months, or about your spiritual connection and/or blockages in an Epsom salt bath. Allow yourself time to feel magic and the magic that is intentional rest and recharging. And whatever you dream up, let it ground into reality with the energy of Virgo season. Anything is possible when you intend, act, and flow.

Sensitivities are heightened. Tread intentionally.

Now that you know the dreamy, spiritually sensitive side of Pisces, you must know about the other sensitivities that are brewing the next few days into the next few weeks. Let's start with the fact that “spiritually sensitive” can also mean empathetic, which when uncared for can make things go awry. An empath can basically take on the mental or emotional state of another individual. As a life long empath, I only recently learned that it can be a superpower, but we have to be very intentional about our energetic self-care.

Start your days off by protecting yourself energetically in the morning. I'll have a YouTube video on this soon, but in short, just imagine white, divine light all around you as you enclose yourself in your own energetic bubble that no one can disrupt. Before you go to bed, make sure you release all of the energy you encountered throughout the day. Salt is very good for energetic cleansing and protection. If you don't have a tub for Epsom salt baths, a salt scrub works wonders too. Just be as intentional as possible with all practices.

It's important to also be very intentional in our relationships right now. Venus in Cancer is making an opposition to Saturn in Capricorn, and Mars is preparing to go retrograde on September 9 through November 13. In short, the cosmic shit is hitting the fan in terms of emotions, passion, anger, war, and assertion. We're already super sensitive in all forms of the word, so be wary of trespassing personal boundaries and biting back when you feel like you should. Any time you feel the urge to get into it with someone, know that that's not your true self conducting itself that way, it's your ego. Who are we trying to align with? Come correct and allow yourself to show up as your highest, most protected, respectful self each time.

All in all, allow this Full Moon in Pisces and all of the other important planetary shifts shifting us to let you see all the things you're feeling and seeing and dreaming, not for how crazy and hectic these times are, but how expansive everything can really be. Take up space in your own glorious visualizations of the future for the next few weeks. Rest, recharge, respect your boundaries and those of others, and as always, remember wtf you are — a being in divine process.

ask yourself

  1. Thinking about the past six months — how have I, my environments, my relationships, my habits, and my mindsets evolved?

  2. What kind of world do I dream of for myself? What kind of world do I dream of to live in?

  3. What do I need to release in order to make my dreams a reality?

*It's the ideal time to review your 2020 vision board(s) and Claim of Abundance. And if you haven't created yours, this is the also the ideal time to start. (The COA is on sale. Tell a friend.)

If you want to use the most potent energy of the Full Moon or release with a Full Moon Ritual, you have until Saturday, September 5 at 1:22 AM EST | Friday, September 4 at 10:22 PM PST.

  • “September’s Full Moon can definitely stir our emotions and trigger feelings of sensitivity. We may feel extra empathic too, so if you are sensitive to the energies of others, be sure you are taking steps to protect yourself and to recharge your energy. As Pisces is a water sign, spending time near water or even taking a saltwater bath can be healing and restorative.”

“Venus and Saturn are also active under this Full Moon, and may be stirring issues in matters pertaining to our relationships. This energy calls for us to own our actions and to speak our truth rather than getting defensive. It calls for us to not deflect or pass blame, but to really take responsibility for our behavior and what we want to create moving forward.” – Forever Conscious

  • "The Pisces Full Moon offers you the respite you need, so you can tune in to the magical side of life. This is not a time to focus overmuch on productivity or getting big results. Nor is it a time to engage in battles – especially since warrior Mars is stubbornly stationary as it prepares to turn retrograde on Sept. 9 (thru Nov. 13)." – Moon Circles
  • "This lunation is positioned to help us imagine the solutions to our many complicated situations. Conjunct Neptune, the Full Moon comes in like a flood. Overwhelm is common under these conditions but so too is the inspiration that finds us when we remember we are part of a vast network of changemakers." – Chani Nicholas

  • "At best the Full Moon in Pisces asks us to attune to our dreams, deepen our intuition and surrender and let the Universe lead. But shadow Neptune/Pisces can also exacerbate tendencies to check out, be in denial, bury our heads in the sand, see what we want to see, turn to addictions to numb out." – Divine Harmony

  • "Our sensitivity is both deepened and heightened this week. If we can rise above personal concerns and are open to the experience, we have the potential for new expansions in self-awareness and in our knowing of our spiritual connections and creative potentials." – NorthPoint Journal

If your birthday is this week…

“The coming year may challenge your expectations, but it also opens new doors in your life, if you can be flexible. Try not to be hard on yourself, or too critical if you don't find immediate solutions. The answers are there, but just in different places than where you may be used to looking. You will be making adjustments either financially or in your relationships, and also in your short-term and long-term goals. Call upon the insights of your higher knowing; it is there to support you throughout this time.”

Wishing you the Happiest Solar Return!
