Following Governor John Bel Edwards Phase 3 announcement, the district began gradually transitioning more students back to in-person learning.
In accordance with the Louisiana Department of Education phase three guidance, group sizes increase from 25 to 50, and bus capacity moves from 50% to 75%. EBRPSS will continue to adhere to all safety measures including the following: social distancing to the greatest extent possible; wearing face coverings; monitoring symptoms; notifying close contacts; and maintaining static groups whenever possible.
Currently, all EBRPSS students have the option to return to in-person instruction based on the following timeline:
● Students in prek through 5th grade will begin face-to-face learning, Monday-Friday, on October 5, 2020.
● Students in 6th through 12th grade are currently in the hybrid model, attending school two days per week according to alphabetical groupings. These students will resume face-to-face instruction, Monday-Friday, on October 19, 2020.
The district will continue to consult with medical experts; adhere to national, state and local guidance; and make adjustments to this approach as needed. Health data for transitions will be reviewed frequently. More detailed information will be released over the coming days and weeks.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority and paramount to our return to normalcy. As one team with one mission, we will continue to shine, put people first, and empower the next generation to create a better world!
