Coyote Karma

Earlier this week we lost 9 turkeys to a predator attack.  Totally our fault as we got home late from a market and the turkeys had taken up roost in the barn and we were too tired to move 29 large ornery night-blind birds to safety. We left them where they were and selfishly went to bed. At around 2:30 that morning we Karma came knocking. Our Border Collie, Harley, started barking and it wasn't her usual bark. John ventured out into the cool misty night to investigate and found turkeys scattered, scared, and stumbling around seeking shelter from their attackers. We began to search for survivors in the murk with strong lights and with lots of patient coercion were able to round up all but 10 of our flock. We herded them into the cattle trailer
