A week's worth of Inspiration, Eating, Listening,

Watching, Reading, Working & Making

hey there, friend!

Hoooo BOOOOYYY.  This marathon stretch is already wearing me down.

But LETS. KEEP. GOING ACKNOWLEDGING WHEN WE NEED A REST!

So, we've been taking a lot of small breaks this week.  Recognizing when we need to slow down and take a breath. Eating a lot of pasta with the occasional glass of wine.  It's all been helping. But also, it's been oddly productive? Apparently, surviving the onslaught of modern life takes more than sheer will, it takes rest. Also, wine.

Some small moments of joy from the past few days:

PUMPKIN.  THOSE.  BABIES

Tis the Season…this year more than ever.

Making a plan to vote!

Getting a fashion show in the mail.

The most soothing frosting I've ever seen.

This year's exceptional group of MacArthur winners gives me hope for brighter days.

Here are few other things that have helped me get through this week.

I hope they do the same for you, wherever and however you may be.

PIN OF THE WEEK

On my darkest days, when living in Florida really pisses me off (which usually involves some member of the current state government and/or usually high humidity levels…ANYWAY) I day dream about a little cabin in the mountains that I could paint the color of the forest and nestle into with a warm, crackling fire and a good book.  Someday… but until then I can study the beautiful rendition that Danny Seo has created in Pennsylvania.  I adore the exterior treatment here, it just feels so right for the surroundings - and once again proves that looking at the tone of your soil to pick a paint color in the same family is the right move!
