It is with great honor and appreciation that we recognize our area manufacturing employers and employees. You are the nuts and bolts that keep our economic engine together, running smoothly. Manufacturing is the lifeblood of local, national and global economies. By celebrating and connecting with our local manufacturers we hope to inspire the next generation of manufacturers, educate the public on the important role manufacturers play in our daily lives, and grow the skilled workforce to fill the high volume of job openings in this sector.
While the COVID -19 pandemic caused for the postponement of any on-site or in person activities to commemorate Manufacturing Week, we hope to postpone our community outreach and school to work activities as we are able to in the spring of 2021.
Our workforce development team continues to promote local industrial available positions on our free job board, develop strategies to connect area manufacturers with a qualified workforce, and engage with area high school students on opportunities to connect with manufacturers on many levels. We continue to work with our workforce partners and educators to develop a new apprenticeship program and look forward to announcing our progress in the near future.
