What an astrologically loaded time! Idk bout you but, Scorpio season has thrown me face first into confronting some deep seated fears, sent me into anxious spirals, & taken me to some deep sea depths of uncertainty. It's been intense & my shadow/subconscious has been craving my attention to reflect & get to know it.
I'm so grateful to have been guided into honoring the gifts of witnessing my shadow with curiosity. I've come to really appreciate showing up for myself when things get dark & intense. Not running away or denying these aspects of myself. But getting a little closer & asking why. Further, engaging sensual, intuitive body movement has put me on a path of befriending those fears, unknowings, subconscious beliefs, aka my shadow.
With this full moon approaching, I am so here for the venusian energy of it being in Taurus! We can use this energy to ground into our sensuality & engage some body movement! Scorpio season is a time of death & rebirth.. what are we releasing, composting, & creating space for? Full moons are a time to reflect & release, and what better way to do so than with some sensual dance.
When I say sensual, intuitive body movement, I'm talking about whatever feels accessible to you & necessary for you. Listen to your body, it will tell you how to move. I've been going off with this Dance as Medicine playlist from holistic sex educator, Che Che Luna!
Maybe you want to set up a space outside to move your body, or in front of your mirror, or move from your bed or a supportive chair. Make sure to drink lots of water as you'll be not only be moving your body, but releasing pent up emotions. May what you release be juicy fertilizer for new birthings.
P.S. Proving your sensuality is not required.. you are sensual because you have a body! You just are. Allow your intuition to flow & play with this.
I love working with Lavender to support my nervous system & uplift my mood. It definitely gives me dance energy and alleviates stress, fear, anxiety, & panic. Lavender is a wonderful plant accomplice for when things feel overwhelming & just plain scary. It's in the JAM HAW Dream Time tincture as well.
Lavender Latte
Steep a spoonful of lavender in ¼ a cup of hot water for 15 minutes. Then strain. (I like to use my french press!). Steam ¾ cup of milk (Warm on the stove, then shake in a jar if you don't have a milk steamer) & add it to your strained lavender tea! You can add some maple syrup or honey into your milk during the steaming process to sweeten.
Calendula is another herb that can support us in shadow work & body movement. This bright orange flower supports lymphatic flow which is deeply connected to our emotional flow. (Our lymphatic system also craves movement in our bodies to stimulate function.) Calendula is especially helpful for melancholic, depressive states & helps to bring light to our mental states. Its a wonderful addition to winter broths!
Calendula Infusion
Place a handful of flowers in a mason jar & fill with hot water. Cover with a lid & let sit for a 4-5 hours. Strain & drink during your body movement sesh!
That's it for this week babe! Embrace Scorpio season with intuitive & sensual movement, Calendula, Lavender, & whatever else helps you be present to your subconscious & the areas where the veil is thinnest for you.
