So there was a time when I wrote these bi-weekly. Heck, I even typed them out in a Google doc in advance and pre-planned my content! Enter coronavirus in early spring. At the time I thought for sure that by the holidays we'd be in a different place. Well…

But here I am 9 months later and I can count on one hand the number of times I've been in public since early March. Reprioritization happened as we worked to find that illusive integration between work and parenthood in a pandemic. It's safe to say newsletter consistency took a back seat. #notesfromkait all but slowed to a trickle. Balance/integration has not been found, but we're enduring and making it work.

In the last 2 months, some good things have happened! In September, I participated in a MG United awareness campaign to tell my story in a more formal way. This included having a photography team travel to our house and shoot some “day in the life” images of me from a distance outside (with masks). I've never been more grateful for our porch! We managed to sneak this in just before wildfires began raging across the Pacific Northwest.

In the midst of 2020 chaos, you might have noticed that I have leaned a bit further into MG advocacy where I can.

I am thrilled to be supporting an MG Docuseries that is premiering virtually next week. You can stream A Mystery to Me on November 17th! This documentary follows 3 of the most incredible MG patients I know. After almost 2 decades with this illness, it is invaluable to see the advocacy efforts for our community growing exponentially.

There's a great virtual premier experience planned, and if you register for the premier you might just see my face and artwork during the virtual booth event before the main event.

I'd love to know what small joys you've encountered these last few months… whether it was putting up your Christmas tree before Halloween or finally learning how to diffuse your hair (oh hi, it's me). Let me know how you are doing!

See you soon.

xo,
