As we're ushered into the farthest depths of 2020, a Scorpio Super New Moon comes along to push us into the farthest depths of ourselves. As a people, the U.S. elections brought some alleviation during what's been a year's worth of dark ages, but this lunation is a reminder that we cannot let the collective sigh of relief allow us to ignore all the work that needs to be done. The same is to be said about our individual being and doings. The Sun and the Moon both in Scorpio call for the release of stagnancy and comfort in order to meet the necessary truths that will have us break through to who we really are and where we really need to be.
Let's get into it and how we can best navigate all of this cosmic energy for healing, practical mind, body, soul self-care, and divine alignment.
The Sun and Moon meet in Scorpio, the Mars-ruled water sign of death, rebirth, and the passionate, mysterious discovery of truth. This lunation, in particular, is a Super New Moon, magnifying its effects on us and the opportunities we have to reflect, unroot, and powerfully shift into alignment. Forming healing aspects with Pluto, Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune, we have our work cut out for us for the most part, but are being spiritually and energetically supported in diving deeper to get to the core of our feelings, triggers, actions, and reactions.
Let's talk about diving into our darkness.
This isn't a new topic for me. If anything, it's what sets me apart from other wellness leaders, creators, healers, and teachers. I have always, and will forevermore continue to encourage the exploration of our shadows as a means to reach our light selves. Even though I am a Gemini Sun, Cancer Moon, Cancer Rising through and through, if I could be a lunation, I would be this one, a Super New Moon in Scorpio.
This lunation is special. She isn't playing games. Cosmic movement generally comes along to snatch the wigs we think we've secured, but this one comes at a pivotal time.
For one, Mars, which rules Scorpio, just went direct after being in retrograde for the past six weeks. There's been a slowing down and recalibration of our will, drive, anger, aggression, and assertion, so as it ramps back up for the next six-ish weeks, we could feel the fire growing and rising within us, pushing to explode…about everything. Pairing that with a Super New Moon in its home sign of Scorpio means emotions could run amok if we don't take the time to center and care for our whole selves as much as possible in the exact ways that we need in this moment.
The shifts are undeniable. Scorpio does not care that we're tired of wading through dark waters because it knows that we've only been trying to stay afloat at the surface. It knows that we need to go deeper to understand the why's and why not's of the biggest things in our itty bitty world. This Super New Moon is going to uncover our eyes and show us what we've been avoiding – the conversation, the release, the restructuring, the awareness of the roots of our traumas and inequities that we've been avoiding. We're being given the chance to acknowledge that not all of our parts are perfect or ready-for-the-world, but that they're a perfect part of our Divine timeline because Spirit said so upon our inception.
The darkest, deepest lodged emotions, desires, fears, and dreams are meeting our consciousness right now. So flow. Allow yourself to dive, and see, and feel, but hold yourself in grace and compassion so that you're not swept under the currents of Scorpio's murky waters. What is upon us all is necessary work. We cannot manifest and expand into the highest, most authentic expressions of who we really are without authentically acknowledging who we really are from the lowest points of our existence. That is on personal growth, collective evolution, uncovering the patriarchal white supremacy built into the foundations of America, and ever so more…on periodt.
Let's talk about loneliness and bypassing the bigger picture.
The other day, I popped onto Instagram Stories and checked on my community by asking where their hearts were and what they were working through. More people than I thought spelled out lonely, sad, and confused about how to move on. I wanted to hug every one of them, but more so, I wanted to shake them a little and tell them how supported they are as they crumble and rebirth.
As mentioned, the New Moon in determined Scorpio is forming healing aspects with a few colossal cosmic players, and each one is supporting our healing and expansion in a different way.
Pluto, planet of death and rebirth, and Jupiter, planet of expansion, are at it again, reminding us that this is a time of breaking into the past in order to break free for the future. They're fully supporting us as we acknowledge that old responses to new problems won't work, calling on us to accept the call for a new way of being. Let this year's narrative, the rise of all the events that have taken place, remind you that limits do not actually exist. Unfix your mindset and exist in the possibility of all possibilities.
Saturn, no-nonsense planet of structure and stability, is supporting us as we do our best to uncover any remaining toxicity as it relates to our everyday foundations, personally and collectively. Saturn's been active at the perfectly unperfect times this year, aligning with all of the painful moments that Americans have endured being robbed of democracy and downright decency. What we can do is face the fear, anger, control, anguish, and bypassing by pushing towards acceptance, releasing what's not working for us, and building fresh with love and compassion.
And lastly, Neptune, dreamy planet of intuition and creativity. A breath of fresh air and a reminder that we can be all things on the way to creating a new world. We can dive deep into our shadows, pulling at our insufficiencies and our ego's deepest darkest fears; we can flow with the abrupt changes that come with releasing useless mindsets and conditioning; and we can still dream about a just and balanced world where all can experience ease.
As much as we want to give in to the emotional currents that are pulling at us from every end, remember how much the Universe has our back.
Let's talk about self-care using all this energy.
Listening to your mind, body, and soul and caring for their individual needs is key as we navigate all this Scorpio energy. That can look like:
