Elements of

an inspired morning.

Let me start by saying, I LOVE a morning ritual. My energy levels & capacities are different each morning, but I still get to apply some version of what feels like sacred practices to me. Currently, I'm enjoying getting a peak of the sunrise & engaging a handful of elements to get my day started. There are a few things I always make sure to do and other elements that fluctuate. However it goes down, I've come to realize that starting my day with intention, allows me to show up as my authentic self, create more space for pleasure & ease, & allows me to take inspired action on creating the changes I want to see! I'm sure you've experienced the difference in your day & energy between a morning spent in ritual & one where you just roll out of bed. If not, here are some ideas to get you started!

01.

Grateful Beginnings

Even if I decide to fall back asleep after, setting my alarm to catch a glimpse of the sunrise is a must these days. Taking 10 minutes to write a gratitude list paired with witnessing the sun rise has been so simple yet transformative. Highly recommend! Other morning journaling prompts I enjoy include:

-writing down all I can remember from my dreams (Dream Time is a lovely support!)

-writing my intentions for the day (not just a to-do list but an honest check in with my priorities and how I want to feel for the day)

-writing down where I need to offer myself forgiveness so I can move through the day both accountable & lighter of guilt & shame

02.
Hydrate & Warm Up

The first thing I like to consume in the morning is a tall glass of water (sometimes with a squirt of Process) & a warm herbal beverage! My body has been resting & still for hours. It's time to warm up my digestive system, alert my nerves, move my lymph, & lubricate my insides. This is where herbs make their entrance into my day & I greet them warmly! (Later in the morning, with or just after breakfast, is when I decide whether I need coffee or caffeine that day!) Fall time in the Northern hemisphere has me reaching for aromatic herbs & spices. Check out this mini guide to fall for other seasonal suggestions.

03.
Moment of Solitude

Gifting myself a moment of solitude before the day begins & world stirs feels like investing in my emotional piggy bank. This can look like observing a few minutes of silence, doing a breathing exercise, or a 30 minute guided meditation. Doing this with an essential oil diffuser or stepping outside helps to transform it into ritual.

04.
Move!

stretch, dance, exercise.

dry brush, tongue scrape, gua sha.

I like to both move my body & consider how I can help my body move by stimulating lymph flow & to circulate energy! It depends on what I have time for & what I feel my body needs, as I like to be able to meet myself where I'm at! I also cycle sync so there are weeks of the month where I choose higher intensity work out vids & other times where I do restorative yoga stretches from bed. Thinking of practices like gua sha & dry brushing under the umbrella of movement has been really sweet in the mornings too. (*not a sponsored post but I love my dry brush from self ceremony!)

05.
Inspire!

A few minutes of something that inspires me helps me move through the day with an expansive midnset. This usually looks like podcasts, audiobooks, reading, & youtube videos!

These are just a few of my favorite morning things turned ritual! Figure out what works for you, take what resonates, & leave the rest! Remember that the intention is not about increasing productivity but about returning to your most authentic self with more space to be able to take action on the things that really matter to you.

See you next week,
