We recently won an award from Downtown Denver Partnership for the Auraria Library Solar Array that was completed November 2019! The largest single rooftop solar array in Downtown Denver has 2,100 panels and will keep 1.2 million lbs of co2 from entering the atmosphere each year. Thank you so much Downtown Denver Partnership for the honor of receiving this award!

Our first #WalkTheWalkASCP

competition re-cap

In November we held an Alternative Transportation show-off competition! We asked students, faculty, and staff to send us the ways that they utilize Alternative Transportation everyday. Participants were also asked to fill out the competition form and complete the campus sustainability survey.

The winner of of November's #WalkTheWalkASCP Alternative Transportation contest is Diane Yee of MSU Denver! Diane shared the tip:

“There are several electric scooter companies around campus, and they give out discounts for your first rides and each time you refer a new rider.”

A big THANK YOU to everyone who participated!
Check out our WalktheWalk highlight reel @aurariascp on IG

The ASCP Survey concludes soon!

Auraria, you may be wondering why we constantly ask you to take our sustainability survey. It’s because we want to find the absolute best ways to utilize your student fees! In the past, the survey has indicated that students care about waste (recycling + compost bins on campus), solar energy, and more! Its important that you take the Campus Sustainability survey so you can see the environmental changes that you want on our campus. It only takes 2 minutes to fill out, so head to our website to make your voice count!

All students, staff, and faculty from the Community College of Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and the University of Colorado Denver who have attended or are currently attending classes at the Auraria Campus are invited to participate.

December's Waste Month

All throughout December we will highlight past, present, and future ASCP waste projects and data on our social media accounts.

This content will include: The Truth Behind The Trash chronicles, our waste sorting guide, monthly and annual waste reports, previous Did You Know? graphics, our Sustainable gift giving guide, and past events full of student, faculty, and staff engagement!
