From the Director's Desk

In this edition of The Leaftlet, you will learn about a major donation to help support kids in need. You will also learn about two forthcoming books that will be of interest to all scholars of constitutions.

This week, I will participate on a panel about the Constitution of Qatar, as the country prepares to hold its first-ever elections for the legislature. My remarks are entitled “Ten Principles for Democratic Elections.”

In this holiday season, I send you and your loved ones my best wishes of good health and good cheer, always.

$5000 USD to Support Kids in Haiti

Over the course of the summer, the International Forum on the Future of Constitutionalism held a number of programs for which we charged a modest cost to enroll. I have donated our proceeds to help send kids in Haiti to school. The Marco Depestre Foundation of Ottawa has paired us with children in need.

My thanks to all who participated in our summer programs. You have made a real difference in the lives of these children. Here are just six of them, each pictured below. From top to bottom, left to right, please meet Islande, Mildred, Ludmia, Clifford, Taicha, and Julia.
