This week has been ALL about communication. And the fact that I've been stuck in this house with only one other human being for the last 11 months. I mean, he's here ALL THE TIME. Like, all the time. Every day. All day. Did I mention he's here all the time?
So when he came to me last weekend saying he needed an afternoon by himself, where he could watch what he wanted (stuff I didn't like) on TV, and listen to loud music with headphones if he wanted to, I was like, CAN YOU SEE INTO MY BRAIN? Because YAASSSS.
Which is how we ended up spending all day Sunday…together, but separate. Him in his Lounge, me in the Great Room. Frankly, I didn't realize how much I needed that. To not worry about anyone else for a few hours, and just do what I felt was right was a revelation. And not like a 45 minute walk, but like a solid 6 hours.
So, be open to the idea that you don't have to spend all the time with someone else, even if you live together. There are no rules. And remember that they can't read your mind. Use your words, enjoy your afternoon. Meet for dinner and tell each other about your day. Because it was amazing.
