Before I actually share my thoughts on the flavors, I wanted to provide a little context on the ratings. I used emojis to help me decide what tasted good or not. Happy-looking emojis (🥰☺️🙂🙃) obvious mean the flavor was delicious and not-so-happy-looking emojis (😐🙁☹️🥴 🤮) mean anything from: “it was okay, but not great” to “no, never again will I ingest this.” Also, I would like to note I did not try every single flavor on the market – as I hunt down the last few flavors, I'll update this list.
Passionfruit
Rating: 🥰
This is my favorite flavor of all time. It is tasty cold and at room temperature. I like it fresh out of the can and super carbonated, but I also think it's good when it's flat. Great over ice. It's easy to find. I have nothing bad to say about Passionfruit. If you also enjoy Passionfruit, you have immaculate taste and I love you.
Berry
Rating: ☺️
Berry flavors can be very hit or miss for me. I think berry is often a medicinal taste or so artificial that it's disgusting. But thisssssss, this was tasty! It surprised the hell out of me. This could very well make my 'all time favorites' list as I finish off the cans I have.
Razz-Cranberry
Rating: 🥰
Oh yes. I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty Razz-Cranberry was. I saw it wasn't as loved as many other flavors, but it wasn't hated either. I think along the same lines as Berry, raspberry flavors can come off medicinal and almost “too berry-y” if that makes sense. I love cranberry, so I'm going to be down to try anything with cranberry in it. Loved this.
Peach Pear
Rating: 🙃
Now we're getting into the flavors that I was not so sure about or didn't like. Peach Pear is good, but I don't know if I like it. I don't hate it, that's for sure. I didn't like it at first, but it's definitely grown on me and given the other flavors that I think are trash – Peach Pear isn't among them. Going down, it kind of tastes like what I imagine the plain La Croix taste like. On the come up, it's got a very subtle peachy-peary vibe. So subtle, you could miss it if you're not paying attention. I can't say that I would recommend this flavor, but I'm NOT recommending it either. Try it out if you want, or don't.
Tangerine
Rating: 🙂
Tangerine was tasty! It wasn't amazing and I don't think it's as carbonated as the other flavors which knocks it down a few rungs. It also isn't as good at room temperature and to be honest, that is a very important factor in my rating system. I am a slow drinker and I like La Croix flavors that will continue to taste good even after sitting next to me at my desk for hours on end. Tangerine isn't that, but again, it's not trash.
Limoncello
Rating: 🥴
Uhm… No. There is something so alarmingly wrong with Limoncello. I think because there are some strong floral notes (wow, am I a professional La Croix reviewer or what?), I'm going to have to put this flavor in the trash. I can't believe I spent my money on this, it was a disappointment, it tastes like a bar of lemon and vanilla soap from Bath and Body Works.
Key Lime
Rating: 🙃
Key Lime kind of has the same vibes as Limoncello, but not disgusting. I didn't totally hate it, but I don't know if I like it. These flavors have a… creaminess… (I don't think that's the word I want to use, but it's the only word that comes to mind) to them that is so off-putting. I don't really recommend this one and it surprises how many people said this was their favorite. It tastes like melted down lime sherbet without sugar and that sounds exciting and delicious, but it isn't to me. While Key Lime is not terrible, the fact that it tastes like it could have dairy products in it when it should be water makes my brain and taste buds confused.
Orange
Rating: 😐
Orange is such an average flavor, just absolutely run-of-the-mill, nothing exciting. It also kind of tastes of like sherbet, but not as strong as Key Lime. It didn't taste great at room temperature but very tolerable. If you enjoy Hi-C Orange but don't want the sugar, this might be a good option? I'm not huge orange fan to begin with, so this rating is very generous.
Coconut
Rating: 🤮
This was vile. Coconut should not be sold in stores. I really can't fathom people enjoying this flavor. It tasted like sparkling sun tan lotion. I was in a bad mood after trying this and actually dumped out the whole can into the sink because I couldn't finish it – there was no way. I wish I could fully express my disdain for this flavor, but I just can't. I want to fight whoever made this flavor.
Pamplemousse
Rating: 🥰
Let's move on to nicer, tastier things. Pamplemousse, also known as grapefruit, if you're not bougie (or French), is delicious. Well… I do really like it, but I don't know if I should call it delicious. This doesn't taste like anything while drinking it, but I have discovered that there's grapefruit vibes on the return (a.k.a when you burp). I like that there's no overpowering taste, this is a good flavor to have while eating because it's not competing with your food. I won't call it Pamplemousse though, that's just ridiculous.
Hi-Biscus
Rating: 🙃
Oh gosh… Hi-Biscus was good? It was okay? It wasn't terrible? This is what Limoncello is trying to do and failing at. Floral, but not bad. I don't think I'll be purchasing this flavor again, but if offered, I will accept it and drink without complaints.
Lime
Rating: 🙃
Again, this was okay? It was good? I don't know. Lime wasn't as exciting at Key Lime but it wasn't boring like Orange and it definitely wasn't as overtly good as Tangerine. Would I go out of my way to find it? No. Will I drink it if it's available. Yes.
Mango
Rating: 🥰
Let us end today's reviews and rants with a flavor that I absolutely adored: Mango! It was delicious and refreshing, a true 10/10, would recommend. I have literally nothing bad to say about Mango, besides feeling like it's hard to come by. If you haven't tried this one yet, please, go grab one (or 12) and enjoy.
