Welcome to the Full Moon in Virgo!

Hello dear First name / one,

You're probably wondering (you're probably not, but bear with me here)
“Why a Moonsletter? Why not send out a weekly update or just a monthly recap?”

Well for one, my friend, I am not a content machine. And part of me needs to hear me say that, so perhaps it will resonate with you too. At present, I don't have the privilege of time or energy to compile a weekly round up of the things that have influenced my days or that I am working on or looking forward to. Instead that time and energy is invested into those things. So that I am showing up present and committed to each individual task, each session, each interaction. I'm not one to follow marketing rules or trends, and perhaps this is a professional shortcoming, but it just doesn't feel harmonious to me to do so. When I reach out to connect with you, it's because I want to connect with you.

When I started aligning myself with the moon's cycle, I noticed a shift in my own energy, my ability to process information, and my creativity. I gave myself permission to rest during some periods, and find I am primed to express myself in others. Full and new moons are a heightened time of intuition and emotional strength. I found that it was easier for me to brainstorm and build upon new habits/ideas as the moon waxed and I was just as focused on finishing and closing cycles during its wane.

It is also nourishing to feel deeply connected to something astronomical, it's both a grounding and expansive sensation of rhythm and attunement. This is what I hope to share with you in these bi-monthly transmissions.

If there is something you'd like to understand more about, please don't hesitate to hit reply and let me know. And if these Moonsletters have resonated with you, I'd love to hear that too.

Tomorrow, the Snow Moon will peak full in the sign of Virgo at 12:17am PST. This will put our needs for order and clarity in our physical and emotional homes. Virgos are wonderfully particular, and their attention to detail can be a gift for specificity or cause unnecessary challenge with those around them. We may be feeling like we need emotional order and not just a clean house, but one to our personal specifications. Be clear about expectations and allow imperfections, especially when working with others.

This is a great time for actually cleaning, not just sweeping the unsightly things under the rug. Enjoy this time by being mindful in the mundane: languish in the warm ritual of washing the dishes, meditate on the lifting of dirt and debris from the vacuum, make your bed like you are preparing for an important and beloved guest. Let your home and external space reflect your inner rooms, and vice versa.

There is also the opportunity to make changes that are long overdue. The full moon trines Uranus, and as long as we remain open-minded, we can accomplish great transformations. Address the last of your emotional or psychic sludge that needs to be cleared out—especially what is no longer your responsibility—and the parts of you that need sweet tending to before launching into Aries season next month.

FOR THE BODY

If you still have some kim chi or saurkraut left over from the new moon, now's the time to eat it up.
Pineapple, papaya, mango, ginger, and honey are some sweeter digestive aids.

â—¦
Feeling a little gassyđź’¨?

Try "Bellows Pose" as an alternative to seated twists—
Laying on your back,
Inhale the arms overhead and reach through the toes.
Exhale, bring the right knee into the chest and interlace your fingers around the knee.

Repeat on the other side, then bring both knees in.

â—¦

Take some time to do deep belly breathing. Find yourself in that cradled space. Thank your belly for its functions and for its softness.
Then pat yourself three times for good luck!

While the moon relates to our inner emotional world, it can also be useful to know the sun's placement—currently opposite the moon—and what we are shining out. The sun is currently in the sign of Pisces and will be in this beautiful, dreamy sign until mid March. Like planets transiting through astrological signs, in Human Design the planets also transit through the 64 gates. To be even more specific, as they transit through each gate, they also transit through each of the six lines of each gate; kind of like how we say “degree” in a sign.

Since Thursday, the sun has been in Gate 37—the Family, the Gate of the Friendship; Line 5 Love-No Fixing. The most communal gate, with a keynote of support. Nurturing, friendliness, an inclination to support. The gate of the mouth, so food is important and will help us connect to one another. I had a health teacher in middle school who once suggested that if you need to have a difficult conversation with someone, have it over food. People are generally more vulnerable when they are eating, and the act of eating creates natural pauses for us to think and assimilate information while we chew.

As we tend to our emotional worlds, cleaning and ordering to gain clarity, and reflecting this in our homes and relationships, remember that we all need support. Take the time to connect to one another. Virgos are also natural nurturers and thrive in the family dynamic.
