Remember March of 2020? Yep, that’s when we were first introduced to COVID-19. Many local Farmers Markets reacted by canceling events when people needed food more than ever. After several heated discussions with city leaders we were able to get the markets opened again. Boy, did you respond. The demand for our meat was so overwhelming we couldn’t keep it in stock. The infrastructure (processing facilities and grocers) couldn’t handle the combined effect of the virus and the increase in demand. We, too, felt the crunch when our inventory quickly ran out and we couldn’t get processing dates to replenish. Fortunately, I was already scheduled for beef and pork processing in April and May.
We had wanted to implement a Buyers Club since the very beginning of Amber Oaks and many of our patrons had voiced an interest in monthly boxes. However, we knew we had to iron out some production kinks before we could commit to our customers a steady supply of delicious, pasture-raised meats. Well, sometimes a crisis is all you need to inspire you to act. Our Buyers Club program launched in June 2020 and the response has been fantastic. So far, we have successfully delivered 152 meat boxes!
We’ve learned a few things over the last 9 months and we listened to your suggestions, so we are tweaking the program a bit. In addition to the minor program changes identified in our new flyer, we’re adding a Treasure Chest monthly subscription. You may be familiar with our Treasure Trio - we're amping it up! Now you can get a combo box of delicious pasture raised meats every month. You can read more about our Treasure Chest on our website but in short you’ll get 2 lbs. of ground beef, 2 lbs. of breakfast sausage, 3 lbs. of chicken breasts, and 2 dozen eggs every month.
