We have had an incredibly exciting week at Southern Georgia! Early this week we explored the gorgeous cafes and gift shops of Darien. If you have ever experienced Georgia's colorful cotton candy sunsets, let us be the first to tell you, Darien's Waterfront Docks boast some of the most beautiful ones. We definitely recommend taking an evening to indulge in the scallops and fish tacos from the outside deck of Spartina Grill as the sun sets behind the historical bridge.
We also took a trip to the timeless Downtown Waycross! Okefenokee Swamp's Hog and Hominy is this weekend. Living historians will be on site interpreting the daily lives of pioneers who settled in this area during the 1850's. Smell the wood smoke, watch as ladies boil water for laundry, and the men folk prep meat for the table. Walk around their Pioneer Island, view the historic structures, and enjoy an interactive historical experience like no other. Sheep shearing, log splitting, cooking demonstrations, and so much more!
