SevenThings

A week's worth of Inspiration, Eating, Listening,

Watching, Reading, Working & Making

hey there, friend!

My senior year of high school was many, many, many moons ago, but I do remember how distracted I was that last quarter.  Knowing something big was coming to a close, feeling spring fever, and the ever present anticipation of something, and somewhere, brand new.

I've been thinking about that time a lot lately, because those feelings are re-emerging for me - to the point of utter distraction.  I can't stop thinking about vacations, and far off places, and how wonderful it will be to hug my family again. More friends and family are getting vaccinated, and it feels like a countdown has started.  The weather here has been distractingly beautiful.  Sadly, I also have the shoppies real bad.

Focus has been, let's say, a challenge.  But a wonderful challenge that I'm happy to experience, nonetheless.  When I think back to how I felt even a year ago, much less 3 or 4, it's incredible to me the journey we've all been on.  Those of us that have survived it have so much to be thankful for.

So that's where I'm at.  How about you?

Some small moments of  joy:

Growing Hydroponic Tulips

A ruthless ranking of the Muppets

A beautiful way to preserve family recipes

Birdsong in Monty Don's garden

Japanese Pocky commercial circa 1980

Carmeon won!

Shouting out a great Montanan woman

The stripes on this dress, really this whole outfit

Incredible Kinetic Installation Art

An impossibly shiny door

A gorgeously fresh design for the Adirondack Chair

Here are the other things that got me through this week.

I hope they do the same for you, wherever and however you may be.

Pin of the Week

Keeping myself limber this week with a design for a Prairie Style Ranch House.  I've specified this Aspyre V-Groove siding for 2 separate projects this year already - its really that good, so I started there.  Loving dark mysterious jewel tones right now, so I decided to cover the siding with Jasper from Sherwin-Williams, and accent it with a gorgeous brick veneer from Old Mill Brick.  To keep it warm, I'd do an Aged Bronze metal roof, and then bring on a gorgeous wood door in a grid pattern, and brass accents to pop off the dark green.  To tie it all together, I'd suggest these great chairs in a color to match the roof and then soften everything up with native grasses for the landscaping.
