Welcome to the Full Moon in Scorpio!

Hello dear First name / one,

And welcome to one of my favorite full moons! And not just because the Nick Drake song gets stuck in my head.

I know, it might be silly to have favorites, but I really love April's Pink Moon. It heralds the flowering of the early plants, the birth of baby animals, the full swing of spring—bringing much needed color and youthful energy back into our landscapes. In American folklore, it was named for the pink flowers of the native wild ground phlox. And in some eastern coastal indigenous communities, it was referred to as the Full Fish Moon for the spawning season of shad. The overall energy of this Full Moon, which also happens to be a super moon peaking at 8:31pm PST, is beautifully appropriate for Taurus season, highlighting natural beauty in its most creative, generative form.

It’s truly fitting that the Pink Moon is also in the sexy sign of Scorpio, which can be thrilling or exhausting. Scorpio invites insists that we delve deep into our emotions. Superficial exchanges just aren’t going to cut it, and whether we like it or not, we are seeking intimacy. Scorpio challenges us to seek the deeper truths of our emotional patterns. This can be uncomfortable, but the greater awareness of ourselves is worth it. When we become aware, we have more choices and are more flexible in the face of inevitable change.

FOR THE BODY

Scorpio rules the genitals, the pubis area, prostate, anus and urethra. Since it is also Taurus season, a primal way to serve your body during this time
is to give it sensual pleasure.

â—¦

Patron your favorite local or online sex toy shop and treat yourself to something new. Sex does not have to be with a partner, and learning about your own body

and its needs instills confidence and engenders self-love.

â—¦

If toys aren't your thing, try mirror gazing to take in all the beauty that is your body. Or with your eyes closed, trace your body with your own fingers and really pay attention to the yummy sensations both from your touch and from feeling your own landscape.

â—¦

Embrace the wateryness of this full moon with a sensual bath. Use fresh flowers such as roses, lilacs, violets, and vervain (even dropping in the essential oil of these flowers will have you feeling like a spring nymph).

I’d like to talk about these emotions for a minute. In Human Design terms, a person is either defined or undefined/open in the Solar Plexus center, the emotional center. If you are defined, you have a consistent emotional wave that your ride throughout the day and over the course of a few days. For you, this moon might feel like wherever you’re at in your wave, whether that’s a high or low, is consuming you. Take note of where you are if you can, or go full monty and dive in! Really explore all angles of your feelings.

If you are undefined or open in the Solar Plexus center, you are here to gain experience and knowledge about the spectrum of emotions. You take in and amplify the emotions of others, as well as having your own tied to your own experiences. But your emotions are not consistent or reliable. During this moon, you may experience ALL OF THE EMOTIONS AT ONCE. Be sure to take some time alone to release what is not yours and examine what is. It’s okay to feel big things, but it’s not correct for you to make emotionally-driven decisions. Do not let them or your reasoning mind distract you from the truths of your experiences.

To learn whether you are defined or undefined/open, you can look up your chart here.

Or book an INITIATION session, where we will dive into how to use your emotional center.

This particular moon will also have some challenging aspects such as an opposition to Uranus—sudden changes (in mood), unexpected events, emotional agitation; and a square with my old pal Saturn—restrictions, self-questioning and self-doubt. We may find ourselves looking over past emotional patterns, relationships, and emotional investments with a critical eye that doesn’t leave a lot of room for compassion toward our original intentions. Reflection is only beneficial when we are able to glean the knowledge from the lesson. Don’t linger too long beating yourself up over the past.

Remember, this full moon is one of new birth. Very few births, if any, are easy. They require us to dip into our emotional wells, muster up our courage, and be present for the experience. Each one of us, regardless of biology, has this capacity. And with that, I’m going to turn on Tash Sultana’s Pink Moon and get in a bath because my little Scorpio Moon needs to swim in some feelings tonight.
