Reify 8&21

Welcome to your 3-minute pause. Let's focus on your practice of pursuing awesome.

Your resilience fingerprint

The way someone shows resilience is

as distinctive as a fingerprint.

Your individual ability to

persevere through challenges

and to demonstrate toughness

is as unique as you are.

What's your resilience look like?

Intentionally reflecting on how you've already shown resilience is one way to recognize, and even celebrate, your unique resilience.

Reflecting now about the strengths you know you have—  strengths you’ve already shown in past challenges

is one way to inspire your resiliency going forward.

"Belief in myself is how resilience shows up."

― J.S., Reify Conversation participant

The Two Sarahs' definition

Resilience: The capacity to persevere through challenge in order to intentionally pursue an authentic purpose.

We refined our definition of resilience over time. It is based on our discussions with women leaders and crafted to support our research.

Sharing that context to emphasize that OUR resilience definition, or others' definitions of resilience, may not be useful to you. Maybe you need your own.

Our golden luck

“Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery. It treats breakage and repair as part of the history of that object rather than something that we should hide and camouflage…"

"Just like an object can become beautiful and stronger thanks to those breaks, we as humans also become more beautiful and stronger.

Our stories are very unique and they are there to be celebrated through the tough times, the difficult times. All of the mistakes and the failures, they are the golden luck that repairs our broken bones and makes us stronger, very special and lets us fly.

So see yourself this way, and others will as well.”

When you think on your resilience—what strengths, or words, come to mind? What's your golden luck?
