Weekend Rest + Reflect

Hello my dear friend,

I have been thinking all week about what I would want to share with you in this week's Rest + Reflect.

Can I be vulnerable for a moment and say that the last couple weeks have been a little overwhelming for me physically, mentally, and emotionally? I felt like I was in positions that I was totally unequipped to handle on my own. Have you been overwhelmed lately, too?

Personally, I found myself feeling like I had to be strong enough or successful enough on my own. And let me just tell you - I was being crushed under the weight of something I was not meant to carry. Not only did I feel overwhelmed, but I felt alone.

Last night, I opened up my Bible and was reading in Matthew 28. The very last verse of the chapter washed over me and settled into those overwhelmed and lonely places of my heart.

“…behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age”. Matthew 28:20 ESV

I just felt the Lord gently holding my heart and saying, “I am with you always".

Y'all, the faithfulness and promise of God has been absolutely flooding my soul with this simple reminder. I wanted to share this with you this weekend because it is so easy to feel like it's us agains the world. That it's us against our circumstance.

But this week, I have found myself saying that I am thankful for the circumstances I cannot handle on my own because even though they are hard, they give me the opportunity to experience the love and power of our God in greater depths. In our most painful moments, we have the chance to experience His compassion and abundant ability because He is with us. All the power of heaven is with us. The darling of Heaven is with us. The one who conquered death and rose from the grave is with us.

So this weekend, I want you to hear the Lord telling you, “First name / My Child, I am with you always”.

Rest

Rest in the truth that no matter what you are going through right now and no matter what season you may find yourself in, you are not alone. All the power of Heaven is with you.

Reflect

  • Do you feel alone in what you are going through right now?
  • What are some practical ways that you can create reminders to help you remember that He is with you always?
  • Write out one or two ways you have seen God move in your circumstance. Share one with a friend who may need encouragement!
  • Listen to “Promises” by Maverick City Music here. (this song has been my battle cry this week!)

Pray with me

Abba Father,

I come before you with all of my tiredness, weariness, and brokenness. There have been a lot of times recently that I have felt alone and like I have to get through this on my own. But your Word says that you are with me ALWAYS. So Lord, I declare and claim this promise over my life that you are always with me. I am not forsaken because you are FAITHFUL, Jesus. You are the same God who paints sunsets and conquered hell. You call me yours. I am held in your arms. So Lord, I lean into you and ask that you do what only you can do. I surrender this over to your power, wisdom, and love. Thank you, Lord that I can count on you every single moment.

I love you, o Lord my Strength.

In your precious name,

Amen.

From my heart to yours,

Cassidy
