Helllloooo, friends!

it's okay to be uninspired.

you're a big deal.

Inspiration.

Sometimes it feels like a dirty word or more so, a scary concept.

When you have it, everything is golden (think: unicorns, rainbows, all-you-can-eat chicken strips that don't mess with your gut health) and when you don't, everything goes dark (think: goblins, dust, a world with no cheese).

The last few weeks for us have been a mix of really inspired and really just not.

Instead of fighting the feeling, we just let it be (and dreamed about those chicken strips).

Feeling uninspired is a normal part of life. We’re not supposed to feel lit up ALL the time.

If it’s just an hour or a day or even a string of days during a hard year (read: 2020), it’s okay to just let yourself be.

Sometimes, being present and content with what IS (vs. focusing too much on what's next) can be just want you need to feel inspired again.

Here are a few things you can try if you need a little nudge to get present and just BE:

  • Breathe, walk, eat, drink, rest— whatever your body is calling for, do it
  • Remind yourself you will not feel this way forever — all feelings are temporary
  • Don’t force anything — if your mind wanders, let it. If you can’t sit still, don’t.
  • Skip the judgment — inspiration will come and go, you are still whole, worthy person even if you need a break
  • Phone a friend – or if you're an introvert with introvert friends, send a text. 😉The point is, make the connection.

You can always reset, pause and come back to what you were doing.

If you have been feeling in a funk for awhile (again read: 2020) this next little bit of info might perk you up….

IN OTHER NEWS…

FROM INSIDE THE RANDOM, SOMETIMES TWISTED MINDS OF MELISSA & AMY

THINGS WE'VE BEEN ENJOYING

FOOD: Seared Scallop Caesar Salad at Old Ferry Landing in Portsmouth because sunshine + seafood screams SUUUUMMMMEEERRRR and we’re here for it.

DRINK: Homemade Spicy Skinny Margaritas (we make up our own recipes but that gives you an idea) — swapping out triple sec and margarita mix for fresh lime juice and agave is just what the I-don't-give-a-f*ck-about-being-skinny-I-just-don't-love-sugary-drinks-and-I-love-margaritas season calls for.

BUSINESS: Fast Company published this article Why it’s okay to swear at work (according to science) and well, we feel validated. Also, if SCIENCE says then why the $%#@# not!

PERSONAL: Amy wrote about Motherhood + Mental Health — it's an honest reflection on her motherhood and mental health journey these last few years. There are highs and lows to every human experience. This is a glimpse into hers.

What have you been enjoying recently?

Reply back, we'd love to hear!
