intrinsically love, inherently whole

Hello First name / herb angel,

The mainstream wellness industry can sometimes make us feel like there is a never ending list of things that are wrong with us, things to fix, and things that need healing. To be frank, it capitalizes off of and exploits our pain points with no real plan for sustainable support or after care! While taking responsibility for our healing and stories is dope, it's easy to forget how much our body does for us, how supported we are, and all the things going so right in our lives.

In this week's Jam, I wanted to offer a writing prompt:

“What is going right in my _______________ (body, healing journey, life, etc).”

Pair with a cup of garden Sage tea to remind yourself you have everything you need. You don't always need to reach for the trendiest, hottest, next best herb or product on the market.

Y'all, my heart beats and pumps so much blood without me thinking about it, like all the time. My nervous system develops responses to stimuli designed to protect and keep me safe. My nose smells when there is pie in the oven, a rose in bloom, and ocean salt in the wind. My hips are wise. My hips are wise. My hips are wise. My toes help ground and stabilize me firmly as I move and dance. My throat turns thoughts into sound…!

“The culturally pervasive question ”What's wrong with you?" is an ideology that prohibits your self-knowing and restricts the full measure of your power. It holds you to the premise that you are flawed."

-My Body, My Earth: The Practice of Somatic Archaeology by Ruby Gibson

Today's Jam is simple. May you reclaim and walk in your inherent wholeness and know you are love, dear one. The “common” herbs in your or your neighbor's garden are rooting for you.

If you end up journaling using the above writing prompt, I'd love to hear from you and (with your permission) share reflections in a future Jam.

Community Ask

BECAUSE HOUSING IS FOUNDATIONAL TO WELLNESS AND COMMUNITY IS ERTHANG

I'm reaching out to my extended networks in search for housing. I'm looking for a long term arrangement beginning July 1st, in Los Angeles that is dog friendly, has yard space, and 1-2 bedrooms. I'm a graceful steward of home and green space and my fur companion is an 8 yr old slice of heaven with many references. I'm open to neighborhoods and flexible on budget for the right place. If you or someone you know is leasing a home, I'd love to hear from you. Thank you!
