Happy June, friends!

I can’t believe we’re almost halfway through 2021!

Let’s kick this month off with some shimmer and shine. ✨

For this week’s #CreatWithCatCoq challenge, I’d love for you to explore adding metallic textures to your artwork.

Metallics are super popular right now, and this trend isn’t going anywhere any time soon. No matter what medium you’re using, adding metallic textures creates a very cool effect. I especially love digitally adding metallic textures to my watercolor paintings. It’s such a great way to mix mediums and create popular, on-trend artwork.

Adding metallics to your artwork can seem daunting, but it’s pretty simple once you get the hang of it! If you aren’t sure where to start with metallic textures, check out this blog post tutorial where I walk you through the process step by step.

If you don’t have any metallic textures to use for this week’s challenge, I’ve got you! Head over to the metallic textures blog post to unlock eight completely free metallic textures that you can use in your artwork.

I am so excited to see what you create this week! Metallic textures are one of my favorite things to play with in my artwork, and I can’t wait to see how you use them! To participate in this week’s challenge, share your metallic creations on Instagram using the hashtag #CreateWithCatCoq. I’ve been featuring select participants’ work each week, so don’t forget to tag me @catcoq for a chance to be featured.

Have a great week and keep on shining! ✨
