LET THE LISTENER HEAR!

Revelations 2-3

In every generation and for every person in every generation, what God reveals demands a response. In the beginning, He created us for Himself. After the beginning, Adam and Eve chose their own will opposed to His. Then, He made a promise, that His intended will would not be thwarted. He himself would make the payment for our rebellions and some among us would be reconciled to Him.

Since that time in the beginning, He has not left Himself without a witness for every generation, and will be faithful to show Himself.

In Romans 2 we see a natural revelation that is sufficient to cause all people everywhere to ask questions. Who am I? Why am I here? Am I alone?

In the Mosaic revelation we find more about the creator God behind our questions. He is holy, righteous, all present, active in human history and in our personal histories.

In Hebrews 1 we see the final revelation. In Christ, God has said everything He intends to say. We have enough to submit to Him and live as He has designed. “Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son” (Hebrews 1:1-2)

This principle extends to us His children as well. The churches of revelation 1-3, show that God still has expectations that we will listen.
