When was the last time you #washedyourface?

Summer months means longer days and nice, warm weather. But it also means that we need to pay more attention to the cleanliness of skin. Sweat and dead skin builds up even quicker in our pores during warmer months, so washing your face well is even more important than ever.

In the month of June I am  going to start a “Wash Your Face” challenge. If you remember past Spirit Weeks, it's similar to those! Completing these challenges can give you a chance to win prizes! Regular cleansing is essential to keeping your skin looking radiant and healthy. Cleansing helps anti-aging products and treatments work properly by clearing the dead layer of skin. It helps maintain proper pore size since it helps clear away the gross stuff that can impact and enlarge pores. Along that vein, proper skin hydration and prevents the production of excess oils.

fresh summer start

watermelon salad recipe

If you’ve never tried watermelon in a savory setting, you have to make this recipe ASAP. Juicy & fresh, the melon goes SO well with the other creamy, crisp, tangy, and spicy components in this salad. Here’s what makes it so delicious:

Ingredients

  • Red onion, for a sharp bite of flavor and crispy texture
  • Cucumber, for a cool, crisp addition
  • Feta cheese, for a creamy, tangy element
  • Avocado, for extra creaminess. Plus watermelon + lime + avocado = a match made in heaven.
  • Mint & basil, for fresh herbal notes (Mint & watermelon is one of my favorite combos too!)
  • Serrano pepper, for a little heat (if you like, these are optional)

And a bright lime dressing, to tie it all together.

For the full directions, I found this amazing recipe here.
