Summer is upon us. The Solstice is a time to celebrate light in the universe. Especially this year with all we have endured during the Pandemic.
With grateful hearts, together with the curation of Erin McElroy of Trumpet and Mallow, I celebrated an Evening of Creative Renewal with a group of local women.
We enjoyed movement in the warmth of the sun. We reflected, set intentions, and creatively expressed our inner world through painting. The culmination was a grand, fresh, seasonally inspired Meal by Chef Zak of Duke's Alehouse and Kitchen in Crystal Lake. (Click above on read more for video recap)
After dinner, we gathered around a fire in a circle honoring rituals set by our ancestors during the Solstice. Connecting to nature, food, and each other, it's through traditions that we make memories.
I invite you to continue traditions and to be inspired to do so through The Meal quarterly. I also invite you to join me in the process.
This fall, save the date of Wednesday, September 22nd, and Thursday, September 23rd for an in-person Meal to celebrate the Harvest with locally grown foods and purveyors.
