Happy Birthday Can!He is 7 now and it is also the beginning of my story to become a birth professional.

Dear First name / friend,

Summer is finally here after the rainy days we had in Istanbul. June was amazing! I met new couples from France, Sweden, USA, Brazil and Turkey. 2 of my couples met their babies happily and healthily.🙏🏻

It was my son's birthday and he also finished his first year in primary school. I can say it was an emotionally intense month. I went to an early summer vacation with my family as well and back with lots of energy to support new couples.

This week I started sessions in person. It feels really good for us all, to be in the same room and to be able connect in person again. I got my first vaccination shot and really hopeful for summer that we will have less Zoom but more reality.

Bubu Island

This month I went to the grand opening of Bubu Island which is a family club designed for many activities for babies, toddlers, children and their parents. It is also for expectant parents.

The owner of Bubu island is an expat mother living in Istanbul for many years. I met her when she was pregnant and we had childbirth education classes together. Now she has created this place considering parents' needs, to be beneficial to families with babies and children.

I recommend you to visit Bubu island and take advantage of the activities. It is very carefully designed in every detail, it is clean and simple. I even loved the colors that have been used. When you visit Bubu Island you will see that it has a very family friendly lovely cafe.

You can check the instagram account @bubu_island

What else can you find in Bubu Island? Spa and massage room, yoga and meditation room, swimming pool, gym area, workshop room)

So don't be surprised if you see me in Bubu Island as a mother or as an educator.🤗

About making sounds in birth…In my childbirth education classes I always talk about the importance of making sounds during surges in labor. We are not very much use to use and make sounds in our daily life. So it is a good idea to practice and get use to it because it is very helpful during labor. In media we are more likely to see laboring women screaming but making sounds is way more different. When you scream you are tense, when you make sounds, your body vibrates and relaxes. I read a beautiful article from a doula friend Elena from Switzerland. I want to share her article with you “Sound of Birth”. You can click and read.

I wonder about your experience or thoughts about this First name / friend. Hit reply and write to me. I would love to hear from you!

Did you know?

… that babies start to get exposed to bacteria during labor when the amniotic sac releases and the seeding of the infant microbiome starts to occur.

THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME INTO YOUR JOURNEy
