I often joke that every day is a vacation, but in truth it’s good to get away some times. Especially to see family. So for this Independence Day weekend, Molly and I flew up to Pittsburgh PA to spend time with my family.
The timing was perfect as our son Jordan is staying with us. Jordan just got a new job in Hutto. His wife and stepdaughter are still in Dallas until they can find a place near by. Fortunately we have a small apartment upstairs, and if a temporary thing turn into a few months (or years), it will still be a comfortable arrangement. But in the meantime I’ll take advantage of the situation and recruit him to watch things while we’re away.
It was great seeing my brothers and sisters again. They all live in the North-East, and though they get together frequently, it’s a challenge for Molly and I to make the trek. In addition to my brothers and sisters, about half of my nephews and nieces were there along with their families. Everyone is very excited about what we’re doing on the ranch, so there’s talk of having the next reunion at our place. Of course it will have to be in the fall as the Texas heat is too much for their Yankee sensibilities.
